2016-11-30 09:59:01 GMT <Vasquez> hello to everyone
2016-11-30 09:59:23 GMT <AFaust> I do not know how you suppose you can support AOS SSO when you have the passthru SSO disabled and are using the alfrescoNtlm for SSO...
2016-11-30 10:00:09 GMT <Vasquez> is there a special place where scheduled-job-context.xml should be placed?
2016-11-30 10:00:19 GMT <AFaust> Basically you should probably try to use passthru for all SSO use cases, not just CIFS. Try to make it work in Share / WebDAV and all other interfaces should work by then too
2016-11-30 10:00:51 GMT <AFaust> Vasquez: As with any *context.xml file you can just place a custom file in alfresco/extension/
2016-11-30 10:00:56 GMT <aguamemnon> sorry , i understand , for the log i have no error in alfresco.log share.log but it refuse login with credidential , if i need put conf to enable trace log error can you tell me what ?
2016-11-30 10:01:52 GMT <lostCulture> anyone able to assist?
2016-11-30 10:02:05 GMT <Vasquez> yes i remember this, but in ldap i had to place it in /extension/susbsystems/Authentication/ldap folder
2016-11-30 10:02:35 GMT <Vasquez> so i just assumed its like this with scheduled jobs,
2016-11-30 10:03:40 GMT <AFaust> lostCulture: Just ask your question and wait for an answer. It may take too long to wait for a "yes, I know something about that topic" which would be a waste of time, so just ask the actual question.
2016-11-30 10:04:54 GMT <AFaust> Vasquez: Well - that was because you wanted to change something within a subsystem. That is one of the few special cases. Unless you have forgotten to mention that the scheduled-job-context.xml is somehow related to a subsystem as well, that does not apply here.
2016-11-30 10:05:09 GMT <lostCulture> anyone able to help with workflow assignee and initiator permissions
2016-11-30 10:05:46 GMT <Vasquez> ok that was all i need to know, no special place is assumed
2016-11-30 10:05:50 GMT <Vasquez> thanks
2016-11-30 10:05:50 GMT <AFaust> aguamemnon: The example log4j.properties should already contain various loggers for authentication use cases. Just set them to debug / uncomment them to activate and restart
2016-11-30 10:07:27 GMT <AFaust> lostCulture: Again - What is your actual / specific question or problem that you need help with? "workflow assignee and initiator permissions" is just a topic label...
2016-11-30 10:07:33 GMT <lostCulture> what we want to achieve is to set our workflow that when a initiator send a worfklow to the assignee, he can only view (not edit) the file, leave comments of recommended changes. Thats get sent back to the initiator where he will edit the document as needed, and ONLY the assignee can approve the documents once he is satisfied. So in short, the initiator can edit and not approve. The assignee can approve and not edit
2016-11-30 10:08:07 GMT <lostCulture> AFaust: sorry it was a long question and took some time to type
2016-11-30 10:08:36 GMT <AFaust> lostCulture: Ok - who is "he" in this case? Sounds like you refer to the "initiator" but grammatically it can be either initiator or assignee...
2016-11-30 10:09:15 GMT <AFaust> Ah - the last sentence summarises it - began to type before reading to the end
2016-11-30 10:09:39 GMT <lostCulture> yes the initiator sends and edit the document....the assignee approve the workflow but musnt be able to edit the document
2016-11-30 10:09:49 GMT <AFaust> lostCulture: In this case you would have to add some scripting logic to your workflow to basically set the permissions according to that scheme.
2016-11-30 10:10:08 GMT <AFaust> You could use task listeners on assign and complete to set/unset permissions
2016-11-30 10:10:37 GMT <lostCulture> ah ok, is there any tutorials in achieving this as im not sure where to start
2016-11-30 10:11:08 GMT <lostCulture> I added read/write permissions in my code but that didnt do much.
2016-11-30 10:11:37 GMT <AFaust> Assignee would get forced Consumer permissions (if other permissions already apply then you may have to remove / deny those) and initiator gets Editor permissions (if other permissions already apply then you may have to partially remove / deny those)
2016-11-30 10:12:21 GMT <AFaust> lostCulture: There is not a tutorial for that specific case since there will always be slightly different use cases / requirements for different Alfresco users
2016-11-30 10:12:52 GMT <lostCulture> http://pastebin.com/j7TxTgZW
2016-11-30 10:12:53 GMT <AFaust> If it does not work then you must check the effective permissions on the document in question using the Node Browser and evaluate the permissions manually to understand "why"
2016-11-30 10:12:53 GMT <alfbot> Title: workflow - Pastebin.com (at pastebin.com)
2016-11-30 10:13:54 GMT <lostCulture> o ok, the thing is we have allot of different documents so that will be hard to maintain. I added my workflow you will see where i added the permissions. Not sure if im doing it wrong.
2016-11-30 10:14:23 GMT <AFaust> I don't see any permissions being set / unset in that workflow.
2016-11-30 10:14:44 GMT <AFaust> Also, at least one of the task listeners appears to have syntax errors in the JS code
2016-11-30 10:14:45 GMT <lostCulture> is what i thought ....pretty sure im wrong hahaha
2016-11-30 10:16:25 GMT <AFaust> I would expect some calls to setPermission or removePermission in the JS code
2016-11-30 10:16:46 GMT <AFaust> on at least one of the bpm_package.children elements
2016-11-30 10:17:49 GMT <lostCulture> sorry im very new to development so i try to teach myself
2016-11-30 10:18:12 GMT <lostCulture> do a person then setPermission on the workflow itself?
2016-11-30 10:20:41 GMT <AFaust> lostCulture: No - in your task listener(s) script code (which I assume you have written yourself, not just copy&pasted) you would have to call the setPermission operation on the relevant document (one of the bpm_package.children elements). The users / person should not have to do anything themselves
2016-11-30 10:21:26 GMT <AFaust> Generally I would advise you get yourself familiar with the script API, web scripts and other functionality first before trying to create a custom workflow
2016-11-30 10:22:03 GMT <AFaust> Workflows tend to be the most complex parts of Alfresco development, so it is not a good idea to use that to "teach yourself" when you haven't mastered the othere areas
2016-11-30 10:22:27 GMT <lostCulture> i just updated our previous alfersco jbpm workflow to the new activiti workflow....
2016-11-30 10:22:53 GMT <lostCulture> o ok, but you helped allot. And thank you for your advise

2016-11-30 11:55:06 GMT <AFaust> Also take care of the bean IDs. They are too simple and could easily be overriden by other *context.xml files

2016-11-30 12:15:39 GMT <AFaust> aguamemnon: Well - the error says that a user does not exist, so it must not have been synchronized. Or there is a mismatch between the login name and the user name, e.g. because the wrong LDAP attribute is used for the user name.

2016-11-30 13:57:01 GMT <angelborroy> it looks very clear: http://docs.alfresco.com/5.0/concepts/share-configuration-files.html
2016-11-30 13:57:02 GMT <alfbot> Title: Share configuration files | Alfresco Documentation (at docs.alfresco.com)
2016-11-30 14:05:54 GMT <maria_> which is the extension directory?
2016-11-30 14:19:04 GMT <maria_> fixed thank for your help, again
2016-11-30 15:26:34 GMT * AFaust is very glad he followed the golden rule of DB interaction: Always backup before you perform a DELETE...
2016-11-30 15:29:02 GMT <AFaust> Tried to cleanup historic activiti processes from the customer database and deleted "a bit too much". grep'ed the backup act_hi_* inserts and restored as fast as possible...
2016-11-30 15:37:38 GMT <yreg> AFaust, I learnt that playing with activiti historical data in alfresco can be really tricky
2016-11-30 15:39:36 GMT <yreg> if you manage to successfully cleanup historical data (let say older thank specific date) I would be interested in examining your approach
2016-11-30 15:40:19 GMT <AFaust> I'll likely upload the DB script to a Gist soon
2016-11-30 15:40:34 GMT <yreg> nice!
2016-11-30 15:40:35 GMT <AFaust> It is just a plain SQL
2016-11-30 15:41:02 GMT <AFaust> Only need to get your restrictions on the sub-selects straight and consistent
2016-11-30 15:43:04 GMT <yreg> I think it can be really handy to have a module that adds an entery to share/alfresco admin tool with the option to delete all historical activiti previous to a selectable date ....
2016-11-30 15:44:01 GMT <yreg> both in prod and in prototyping/staging environments
2016-11-30 15:48:28 GMT <AFaust> Right - have you created the issue in GitHub for ootbee-support-tools yet? ;)
2016-11-30 15:49:18 GMT <AFaust> Since starting that project for the hackathon I try to create such ideas as issues as soon as I think of them
2016-11-30 15:49:36 GMT <AFaust> It's almost always something small / simple that would otherwise get forgotten quite quickly
2016-11-30 15:52:12 GMT <AFaust> Although when included in the admin console it would have to properly go through the API and might be a bit more complex than a simple SQL
2016-11-30 15:52:27 GMT <AFaust> But then again it'd have fewer risks than direct SQL
2016-11-30 15:54:15 GMT <yreg> Agreed, issue #20 filed ;-)
2016-11-30 15:59:35 GMT <AFaust> Gist created: https://gist.github.com/AFaust/4afeda535f3acd18f7fa8674ae5b2c5d
2016-11-30 15:59:36 GMT <alfbot> Title: Delete all historic process instances and related historic data for workflows completed before a specific date · GitHub (at gist.github.com)
2016-11-30 16:01:44 GMT <IanW2> On the subject of deleting workflows, I deleted all workflows from the workflow console, before running the upgrade again and it still took 4 hours
2016-11-30 16:03:36 GMT <angelborroy> anyone has tried to install activiti web console? is easier to remove historic data from that console, isn’t it?
2016-11-30 16:05:29 GMT <AFaust> IanW2: Did you go through mitosis and now there are 2 of you?
2016-11-30 16:06:11 GMT <AFaust> I haven't checked how extensive the deletions are if workflows are deleted via the console
2016-11-30 16:06:36 GMT <AFaust> Also it may be different between versions...
2016-11-30 16:06:54 GMT <IanW2> I'm working at home and accidentally left my irc client at work logged in so it gave me a new name...
2016-11-30 16:09:36 GMT <IanW2> Having a bit of a split personality day however as my main account won't log in to my test system, however my test account will...
2016-11-30 16:12:56 GMT <IanW2> It's a bit odd as the shiny new ootb support tools show the main account as logged in but it gets stuck at the log in page in share
2016-11-30 16:26:15 GMT <AFaust> IanW2: Well - all that counts is the ticket for the user
2016-11-30 16:26:31 GMT <AFaust> So as long as that exists and is not expired you will be "logged in"
2016-11-30 16:27:01 GMT <AFaust> In SSO use cases this will end up showing the user logged in even if the browser has been closed for almost an hour due to the ticket lifetime
2016-11-30 16:28:10 GMT <AFaust> Only when the user actually uses the logout action in Share will the ticket be invalidated and the user no longer be marked as logged in (unless Alfreso has been configured to allow multiple tickets per users and there is another still active)
2016-11-30 16:28:57 GMT <IanW2> This is happening with a new login - I can watch the authenticated user appear
2016-11-30 16:29:47 GMT <IanW2> It works locally with a fresh install and copy of ldap for the same user
2016-11-30 16:30:59 GMT <IanW2> (Not really expecting anybody to help but a bit frustrated with this...)
2016-11-30 17:55:55 GMT <forgiven> in need of some help
2016-11-30 17:56:54 GMT <forgiven> we are using AOS on the latest alfresco community. We have 2 users with mapped drives. 1 has no problem accessing and editing the files but the other user can not access or edit the exact same files
2016-11-30 17:57:23 GMT <forgiven> when this user logs in to share, he can access and edit the files with no problem
2016-11-30 17:57:34 GMT <forgiven> this user is a manager of the site
The other logs are at http://esplins.org/hash_alfresco
