2016-12-16 08:04:14 GMT <twen> morning

2016-12-16 08:06:53 GMT <Loftux> God morning all. The new feature that allows DnD is only implemented for Chrome. Is there a specific reason for this? I.e. no other browser allows folder traversal.

2016-12-16 08:07:08 GMT <Loftux> Allows Dnd to upload folders it should say

2016-12-16 08:12:56 GMT <AxelFaust> Are you sure about the restriction? I don't use Chrome at all and I successfully used folder upload in last 5.2 EA with Firefox...

2016-12-16 08:45:30 GMT <fcorti> Good morning

2016-12-16 08:45:35 GMT <fcorti> Just a reminder for today's Office Hours about celebrating 100 Tech Talk Live Sessions.

2016-12-16 08:46:55 GMT <fcorti> With Jeff Potts, Richard Esplin, Ole Hejlskov, Kristen Gastaldo and me.

2016-12-16 08:47:55 GMT <fcorti> Nice announcements today.

2016-12-16 09:03:29 GMT <alfbot> Title: Alfresco Community Edition 201612 GA Release Notes | Alfresco Community (at community.alfresco.com)

2016-12-16 09:08:14 GMT <DarkStar1> Morning all

2016-12-16 09:09:02 GMT <DarkStar1> How can I get the url of the alfresco repository in a share webscript?

2016-12-16 09:10:01 GMT <angelborroy> fcorti congrats for the first 5.2 release!

2016-12-16 09:11:00 GMT <angelborroy> DarkStart1 aren’t you using “remote”?

2016-12-16 09:11:03 GMT <fcorti> Thank you angelborroy... are you talking about the Community GA release or the Alfresco One 5.2 EA release?

2016-12-16 09:11:14 GMT <fcorti> angelborroy... did you see my message to you in skype?

2016-12-16 09:11:16 GMT <fcorti> :-)

2016-12-16 09:11:19 GMT <angelborroy> var alfEndpointUrl = remote.getEndpointURL("alfresco");

2016-12-16 09:12:01 GMT <DarkStar1> angelborroy: thanks

2016-12-16 09:12:04 GMT <angelborroy> fcorti sorry, we are moving in the lasts days

2016-12-16 09:12:23 GMT <AxelFaust> DarkStar1: You just have to be careful about that endoint URL, e.g. not use it to generate links for the user because it may not be resolveable, e.g. when it includes localhost:8080 or whatnot

2016-12-16 09:12:25 GMT <angelborroy> as we are now an international company, we need new offices :)

2016-12-16 09:12:32 GMT <fcorti> np angelborroy... just to be sure you are updated ;-)

2016-12-16 09:12:39 GMT <fcorti> nice stuff angelborroy!

2016-12-16 09:13:57 GMT <DarkStar1> angelborroy: why wouldn't it be resolvable? Since the remote object is used all over the place I would imagine half the webscripts will break all the time if this is the case :)

2016-12-16 09:14:43 GMT <DarkStar1> In anycase I need to use it for now to generate a link. sill a better option than hard coding it for now

2016-12-16 09:20:46 GMT <AxelFaust> DarkStar1: It was me not angelborroy that cautioned about the unresolvable URL

2016-12-16 09:21:05 GMT <DarkStar1> angelborroy: my apologies

2016-12-16 09:21:14 GMT <angelborroy> no problem

2016-12-16 09:21:26 GMT <AxelFaust> And I just meant that the URL might be unresolvable from a users client. The URL in the endpoint may be configured to localhost which works for the Share server but not a client host

2016-12-16 09:22:57 GMT <DarkStar1> AxelFaust: Sorry I was sort of distracted. Aahh I never gave that a thought. I'll have to put that caution in a TODO and fix it later :/

2016-12-16 09:23:12 GMT * DarkStar1 has a lot of TODOs to resolve at the moment

2016-12-16 09:23:32 GMT <AxelFaust> DarkStar1: You should see some of my code...

2016-12-16 09:24:10 GMT <DarkStar1> You'd need to point me to the needle in that proverbial haystack :)

2016-12-16 09:24:29 GMT <AxelFaust> i.e. never count the TODOs in my Aikau components, i.e. https://github.com/AFaust/ootbee-support-tools/blob/master/share/src/main/amp/config/alfresco/site-webscripts/org/orderofthebee/pages/console/support-tools/log4j-settings.get.js

2016-12-16 09:31:37 GMT <___Dave> AxelFaust: Loftux: Saw your question about the folder upload in 5.2...

2016-12-16 09:31:51 GMT <___Dave> I think this might one of those "your mileage may vary" type things

2016-12-16 09:32:01 GMT <___Dave> I didn't actually work on this, it was something that Kevin Roast did

2016-12-16 09:32:13 GMT <___Dave> and I think that at the time what he did was only supported by Chrome

2016-12-16 09:32:43 GMT <___Dave> as with all things browser related... the other browsers (such as Firefox) will probably catch up in time

2016-12-16 09:33:17 GMT <___Dave> I know that there were a few interesting aspects to the implementation such as the creation of empty folders (which had been an issue in the past)

2016-12-16 09:34:08 GMT <___Dave> I'll let Kevin know about it working in Firefox though

2016-12-16 09:37:39 GMT <Loftux> AxelFaust: ___Dave: Thanks for the replies. It doesn't work with IE, that is what my customer reported. Haven't tested FF myself. The dev task issue here mentions Chrome support only https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/SHA-1698 so it is all as per intention. Would not surprise me (or any dev) if IE would require a complete rewrite for it to work if possible at all.

2016-12-16 09:37:44 GMT <___Dave> I just had a quick chat with him and it is written against a Chrome specific API, and there is feature detection and if that API isn't found then it falls back to the previous behaviour

2016-12-16 09:38:10 GMT <___Dave> It very much is going to be supported for Chrome only though

2016-12-16 09:38:40 GMT <___Dave> There are days when I wonder how *anything* works in IE ;-)

2016-12-16 09:49:39 GMT <AxelFaust> Then I hope the "Supported Platforms" document for Alfresco One 5.2 will include an asterisk with disclaimer for FF, IE, Opera et al that states "some features may not be supported on your browser - ask your IT guy if the browser is right for you"

2016-12-16 09:51:22 GMT <yreg> Guys, I am working on an upgrade project 4.2.4 -> 5.1.1, and I am having issues with presets

2016-12-16 09:52:26 GMT <yreg> I have a presets.xml file in config/alfresco/web-extension/site-data/presets/

2016-12-16 09:53:07 GMT <yreg> but my presets do not seem to be picked up

2016-12-16 09:53:13 GMT <yreg> how can I debug them ?

2016-12-16 09:53:55 GMT <yreg> AxelFaust, is there any thing in ootb support tools for inspecting presets ?

2016-12-16 09:54:33 GMT <AxelFaust> Not yet - but Loftux has already opened an enhancement issue for allowing reset of dashboards, which would require we inspect/read the presets

2016-12-16 09:57:18 GMT <AxelFaust> Grml - why the heck does apparently no one on the Search / SOLR team(s) at Alfresco care to keep URLs short and use the POST body for what it is meant to be used: providing variable length parameters that might otherwise cause the URL to overflow.... ?

2016-12-16 09:58:37 GMT <AxelFaust> Apparently some of the requests that are distributed in a sharded scenario include an abritrary number of IDs passed in via URL, which may fail when some limit is exceeded (even if that limit has already been configured to a higher value)

2016-12-16 10:00:13 GMT <AxelFaust> In my current test case a single URL parameter has a length of about 440.000 characters

2016-12-16 10:00:20 GMT <AxelFaust> Does that seem a bit too much to anyone else?

2016-12-16 10:01:51 GMT <mrks_js> lol

2016-12-16 10:04:25 GMT <yreg> AxelFaust, does it at least make sense ? to send all that information I mean

2016-12-16 10:05:30 GMT <AxelFaust> I don't yet know what that parameter is used for and how the value is derived at. It seems it is related to the value of maxItems that I request. e.g. it starts to fail at 140 items in my system

2016-12-16 10:05:53 GMT <AxelFaust> My extreme test case asks for 10000 items though

2016-12-16 10:06:56 GMT <AxelFaust> I also cannot find any mention of URL length limit issues or any configuration attributes in the Alfresco documentation that might be related

2016-12-16 10:10:57 GMT <AxelFaust> Let's see if setting the maxHttpHeaderSize to almost a full megabyte will help...

2016-12-16 10:29:58 GMT <AxelFaust> ok - the IDs are included for the distributed "retrieve documents" request since the query handler cannot know which shard has what subset of documents

2016-12-16 10:30:19 GMT <AxelFaust> unfortunatekly each ID of a search result takes up about 50 bytes (including URI encoding)

2016-12-16 10:32:00 GMT <AxelFaust> So even if you have set the maxHttpHeaderSize to something that has been documented in docs.alfresco.com like 32768, you are technically restricted to somewhere between 600 and 650 results

2016-12-16 10:40:23 GMT <AxelFaust> The logic that includes the IDs apparently is standard SOLR, but I bet they did not think that someone would be so crazy as to produce index document IDs that are ~42 bytes unencoded

2016-12-16 10:43:51 GMT <AxelFaust> Damn - since the tenant domain is included in the index document ID it can have any length. If some user created a tenant called "myverylongandboringtenantforcollaboration" the potential result set size would be effectively halved

2016-12-16 12:48:54 GMT <yreg> QQ: is the source for EE artifacts available in private repos ?

2016-12-16 12:49:12 GMT <yreg> I am trying to check up on the sources for EnterprisePeople

2016-12-16 12:50:13 GMT <yreg> and my IDE (correctly configured with the enterprise profile, and the private repos credentials in my settings.xml) does not seem to recognize that class

2016-12-16 12:50:35 GMT <yreg> not even the compiled version

2016-12-16 13:07:36 GMT <marsjk> yreg: I have access to the enterprise code svn but that class is only in some JAR. Not everything is available like for example the license code stuff

2016-12-16 13:08:14 GMT <marsjk> else it prob would be easy to make a key generator ;-D

2016-12-16 13:14:21 GMT <AxelFaust> marsjk: Not having the code for something does not make it difficult to work around obstacles...

2016-12-16 13:14:50 GMT <AxelFaust> yreg: SVN is the best option for an Enterprise partner / customer

2016-12-16 13:17:48 GMT <AxelFaust> marsjk: You actually don't need to make a key generator (which is a bit difficult as the key uses asymmetric encryption so is hard to investigate / reverse engineer) - you just need to plug components in the right way that the license check just recognizses "yeah, go ahead" and doesn't check the key at all...

2016-12-16 13:18:28 GMT <AxelFaust> All license management schemes are basically just built on the understanding that it is not hard to circumvent them, but takes somewhat of a criminal / cheating mindset

2016-12-16 13:19:37 GMT <marsjk> not needed as we have a partner license ;)

2016-12-16 14:21:43 GMT <AxelFaust> marsjk: I once had an Enterprise customer who asked me if it was possible to disable license checking, because it appear to be quite buggy to him (hourly validation of the license sometimes failed on his system, causing it to go into read-only mode)

2016-12-16 14:24:00 GMT <AxelFaust> Luckily the problem was eventually found to be caused by clustering + GC issues, but I had to give him some answer with at least a preliminary investigation

2016-12-16 14:33:34 GMT <yreg> marsjk, AxelFaust if the jvm can interpret the bytecode that means it can be decompiled/reverse engineered

2016-12-16 14:34:19 GMT <yreg> but de-compilable does not necessarily mean easily readable/exploitable

2016-12-16 14:34:26 GMT <AxelFaust> yreg: Any code can be decompiled reverse engineered. Java / JVM just happens to be one of the more convenient environments for this.

2016-12-16 14:34:37 GMT <yreg> +1

2016-12-16 14:34:57 GMT <AxelFaust> I have not seen any obfuscated code that I could not read after decompilation

2016-12-16 14:35:03 GMT <yreg> any way, I am maybe looking in the wrong direction

2016-12-16 14:35:14 GMT <kgastaldo> Hey Guys - Office Hours will kick off in a half hour!

2016-12-16 14:35:21 GMT <AxelFaust> And I have looked at quite a few shoddy Alfresco addons that needed decompilation to figure out issues

2016-12-16 14:35:39 GMT <AxelFaust> ^^ commercial addons without open source

2016-12-16 14:35:53 GMT <yreg> AxelFaust, let me explain my issue, you might be able to give better insight into the issue

2016-12-16 14:36:01 GMT <AxelFaust> kgastaldo: Ah - good thing you are here.

2016-12-16 14:36:34 GMT <AxelFaust> During our Order of the Bee board meeting yesterday the question about the future / plans for addons.alfresco.com came up again

2016-12-16 14:36:58 GMT <kgastaldo> Richard Esplin and I spoke about that last week as well ...

2016-12-16 14:37:02 GMT <AxelFaust> I vaguely remember this being talked about at BeeCon with the conclusion of "let's do the general community platform first and then worry about that"

2016-12-16 14:37:52 GMT <AxelFaust> yreg: sure, go ahead

2016-12-16 14:38:05 GMT <yreg> I have an issue with user search in /share/page/console/admin-console/users the search fails with a 'pageSize must be greater than zero' message

2016-12-16 14:39:02 GMT <yreg> when I peek at the developer tools I find a get call for : http://localhost:8080/share/proxy/alfresco/api/people-enterprise with that failure response

2016-12-16 14:39:25 GMT <kgastaldo> @Axel - Yes, addons were on our Phase II priority

2016-12-16 14:39:37 GMT <yreg> but when I try to access the same url from the browser directly, not an xhr call I get the correct resultset

2016-12-16 14:40:13 GMT <AxelFaust> kgastaldo: One thing we in OOTBee want to avoid is creating too much (or any) competition with a general listing of addons, but we - at least until proven it cannot be done - want to provide some kind of added value by setting up a community vetting / certification program (basically a complement of the Alfresco Certified Technology stuff for partners)

2016-12-16 14:41:29 GMT <AxelFaust> yreg: Ah - yes, the Enterprise JARs provide their own web script for that

2016-12-16 14:41:55 GMT <kgastaldo> @Axel - Let's set up a time to go over what you guys are thinking of doing and we can work together to set something up.

2016-12-16 14:44:11 GMT <yreg> AxelFaust, but does it make sense if it does not work as xhr and does work as a direct call ?

2016-12-16 14:44:18 GMT <AxelFaust> Great - if we can find some time between now and mid January would be best. I plan to setup a follow up session on our OOTBee-internal tasks in January, which I had not had the time for in the last couple of weeks

2016-12-16 14:44:38 GMT <AxelFaust> So it would fit nicely time-wise

2016-12-16 14:45:02 GMT <yreg> I checked the headers and there is only two differences: 1) referer 2) X-Requested-With:application/json

2016-12-16 14:45:50 GMT <kgastaldo> Early Jan would be great for me.

2016-12-16 14:46:05 GMT <yreg> I thought there might be a different controller, maybe a .get.json.js or something but couldn't find any

2016-12-16 14:46:10 GMT <yreg> does this even make sense

2016-12-16 14:46:25 GMT <fcorti> Hi folks, the Office House about celebrating 100 Tech Talk Live Sessions, is going to begin in 15 minutes

2016-12-16 14:46:26 GMT <fcorti> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Erk0oK2NmQ

2016-12-16 14:46:28 GMT <AxelFaust> At the moment there is still a bit of scepticism if we - on our own - can set something up without that competition and still provide added value, and I have convince enough people that it is worth to invest some of their time in required collaboration activities

2016-12-16 14:47:35 GMT <yreg> kgastaldo, check the pm I sent to you

2016-12-16 14:50:46 GMT <AxelFaust> yreg: You have found the people-enterprise.get web script files?

2016-12-16 14:52:30 GMT <yreg> AxelFaust, well, I went through /alfresco/s/script/org/alfresco/enterprise/repository/person/people-enterprise.get

2016-12-16 14:52:59 GMT <AxelFaust> Looking at the JS file, if you do not provide a maxResults parameters AND don't provide a pageSize parameter, then the pageSize value will be initialized with -1 which definitely is smaller than zero

2016-12-16 14:53:48 GMT <AxelFaust> Also you could technically provide a negative, zero or NaN pageSize parameter yourself

2016-12-16 14:54:12 GMT <yreg> there is a 0 argument for page size

2016-12-16 14:54:18 GMT <yreg> this is the full usrl

2016-12-16 14:54:43 GMT <yreg> "/share/proxy/alfresco/api/people-enterprise?filter=u%20%5Bhint%3AuseCQ%5D&startIndex=0&pageSize=0"

2016-12-16 14:55:48 GMT <AxelFaust> I just checked - a negative page size will automatically be converted to INTEGER_MAX_VALUE

2016-12-16 14:56:11 GMT <AxelFaust> So only 0 and/or NaN cause issues

2016-12-16 14:56:24 GMT <marsv024> anyone know if there is a alfresco-fts like of the cmis WHERE xxx:yyy IN(1,2,3) to make a search on a property using alist of values

2016-12-16 14:57:07 GMT <AxelFaust> marsv024: I believe my:prop:(value1 OR value2 OR value2) should do something like this

2016-12-16 14:57:38 GMT <AxelFaust> But in your case you could also just do a numeric range query

2016-12-16 14:57:47 GMT <AxelFaust> my:prop:[1 TO 3]

2016-12-16 14:57:47 GMT <marsv024> as simple as that :)

2016-12-16 14:57:54 GMT <marsv024> yup

2016-12-16 14:57:57 GMT <marsv024> thanks

2016-12-16 15:07:49 GMT <kgastaldo> It's working for me in Chrome.

2016-12-16 15:07:53 GMT <ohej> I have no idea what's going on with the screensharing :O Seems like the hangouts on air are having a laugh at our expense ;)

2016-12-16 15:08:18 GMT <bmejias> kgastaldo it's working well again

2016-12-16 15:08:34 GMT <bmejias> I assume when fcorti moves to full screen the video is gone

2016-12-16 15:09:07 GMT <ohej> Yeah

2016-12-16 15:10:04 GMT -yreg- Alfresco Office Hours is on.... a friendly reminder for those who do not check their IRC clients regularly !

2016-12-16 15:10:24 GMT <bmejias> :D nice yreg

2016-12-16 15:10:40 GMT <resplin> Wow, I haven't seen a notice like that before. How did you do that yreg?

2016-12-16 15:13:04 GMT <yreg> ohej, xD

2016-12-16 15:14:30 GMT <bmejias> hahaha... nice comment resplin

2016-12-16 15:14:33 GMT <AxelFaust> wow - coded that caches tool just yesterday after lunch... Reaction so far shows how some administration tools are sorely missing and greatly appreciated

2016-12-16 15:14:49 GMT <bmejias> too bad to hear an Italian doing a webinar where only the slides are visible.

2016-12-16 15:15:17 GMT <bmejias> if can't see the hands moving it's not really Italian.

2016-12-16 15:15:24 GMT <bmejias> good that resplin is compensating.

2016-12-16 15:15:34 GMT <AxelFaust> Isn't the accent enough for you bmejias?

2016-12-16 15:15:58 GMT <douglascrp> good afternoon everybody

2016-12-16 15:15:58 GMT <fcorti> bmejias :-)

2016-12-16 15:16:00 GMT <bmejias> AxelFaust well, the think is that with the accent, I start expecting the moving hands

2016-12-16 15:16:05 GMT <bmejias> hi douglascrp

2016-12-16 15:16:16 GMT <bmejias> check the office hours https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Erk0oK2NmQ

2016-12-16 15:17:52 GMT <AxelFaust> "hostest with the mostest"?

2016-12-16 15:17:56 GMT <yreg> resplin, the first couple dozens are no longer available

2016-12-16 15:18:07 GMT <kgastaldo> Next time I'm getting you to host @Axel

2016-12-16 15:18:31 GMT <AxelFaust> I was wondering if there is a male version for jeff

2016-12-16 15:19:02 GMT <resplin> I think it is a gender neutral comment.

2016-12-16 15:19:09 GMT <resplin> Enough anyway. <grin>

2016-12-16 15:19:10 GMT <douglascrp> wait, is there an office hours happening right now?

2016-12-16 15:19:18 GMT <AxelFaust> I thought it could be misundestood as "hostess"

2016-12-16 15:19:47 GMT <yreg> douglascrp, you missed the first 20 minutes

2016-12-16 15:19:48 GMT <fcorti> douglascrp, join us here

2016-12-16 15:20:16 GMT <AxelFaust> Is the stream freezing on someone else too? A couple of seconds at a time...

2016-12-16 15:21:19 GMT <yreg> AxelFaust, same behaviour here

2016-12-16 15:21:30 GMT <bmejias> resplin absolutely...... linux compatibility please!

2016-12-16 15:21:41 GMT <bmejias> the webex thing was terrible for that

2016-12-16 15:22:12 GMT <bmejias> AxelFaust, yes, I also experience some freezes from time to time

2016-12-16 15:25:12 GMT <bmejias> Luis Sala is a natural communicator.

2016-12-16 15:25:26 GMT <bmejias> I remember his presentations during Alfresco conferences.... very good.

2016-12-16 15:28:48 GMT <bmejias> I believe Office Hours was a great boost for the collaboration of the community

2016-12-16 15:29:15 GMT <bmejias> peaks of users in the IRC channel where during OHs

2016-12-16 15:29:30 GMT <bmejias> resplin exactly

2016-12-16 15:31:01 GMT <AxelFaust> "Marketing" - "Who wants that?"

2016-12-16 15:31:49 GMT <bmejias> AxelFaust, yeah.... that's a good quote... and it's recorded!

2016-12-16 15:32:10 GMT <bmejias> Another great quote of jpotts is the napkin in Berlin's DevCon

2016-12-16 15:32:21 GMT <bmejias> "Software wants to be free, and so does beer"

2016-12-16 15:32:25 GMT <bmejias> or something like that

2016-12-16 15:33:26 GMT <bmejias> jpotts hahaha.... thanks for sharing that moment.

2016-12-16 15:34:33 GMT <bmejias> yeah, I remember the broadcast of ohej with the phone...

2016-12-16 15:35:11 GMT <douglascrp> trying to follow

2016-12-16 15:35:17 GMT <douglascrp> tks yreg for the link

2016-12-16 15:38:34 GMT <kgastaldo> I'll post a topic in the community for this - but I'd love to get your feedback on what topics you'd like covered in TTL.

2016-12-16 15:38:50 GMT <kgastaldo> Or feel free to post here as well

2016-12-16 15:39:00 GMT <___Dave> lol... watching me coding for an hour would be really dull ;-)

2016-12-16 15:39:39 GMT <fcorti> ___Dave this is not what the people is asking ;-)

2016-12-16 15:39:56 GMT <fcorti> I mean: people want to see you (and other) code

2016-12-16 15:40:15 GMT <AxelFaust> ___Dave: Not to mention you would start noticing your own mistakes and start swearing at the "idiot coder" you are watching. Know that from experience...

2016-12-16 15:41:19 GMT <___Dave> true

2016-12-16 15:41:53 GMT <bmejias> yeah, ohej showing off traveling to Sydney...

2016-12-16 15:43:15 GMT <bmejias> resplin let me guess, you couldn't attend because you're family was growing?

2016-12-16 15:44:00 GMT <bmejias> resplin you should name your next kid Sydney

2016-12-16 15:44:10 GMT <jpotts> lol

2016-12-16 15:44:13 GMT <resplin> lol

2016-12-16 15:44:36 GMT <resplin> My wife assures me that our family is now complete. One day I'll stop holding a grudge against my child that prevented my Sydney trip. <grip>

2016-12-16 15:45:02 GMT <bmejias> hahaha

2016-12-16 15:45:12 GMT <jpotts> Richard has such a large family, he could name each of his kids for every city he's been to. But then one would be named "Antwerp".

2016-12-16 15:45:21 GMT <ohej> haha

2016-12-16 15:45:21 GMT <bmejias> hahaha

2016-12-16 15:45:29 GMT <resplin> lol

2016-12-16 15:45:31 GMT <resplin> That's great.

2016-12-16 15:46:05 GMT <___Dave> I bet it's Ole's SDK one

2016-12-16 15:46:06 GMT <kgastaldo> "Maidenhead" isn't much better.

2016-12-16 15:46:31 GMT <bmejias> hehehe

2016-12-16 15:46:52 GMT <bmejias> can you imagine that? Maidenhead, put on your hat

2016-12-16 15:48:32 GMT <resplin> Slough, UK.

2016-12-16 15:48:49 GMT <___Dave> it had to be after that build up ;-)

2016-12-16 15:53:41 GMT <AxelFaust> Damn fine idea...

2016-12-16 15:53:49 GMT <jpotts> +1

2016-12-16 15:55:20 GMT <AxelFaust> I want TTL as YouTube 360* videos...

2016-12-16 15:55:48 GMT <AxelFaust> ;)

2016-12-16 15:55:52 GMT <fcorti> AxelFaust are you sure?

2016-12-16 15:56:15 GMT <resplin> YouTube 360 hosted from an exotic location.

2016-12-16 15:56:32 GMT <bmejias> yeah

2016-12-16 15:56:35 GMT <ohej> I'm having my honeymoon in Aruba in January..

2016-12-16 15:56:41 GMT <bmejias> make sure you can be there resplin

2016-12-16 15:56:52 GMT <ohej> I could grab a 360 camera ;)

2016-12-16 15:56:53 GMT <resplin> ohej: Will your wife approve you spending one day hosting TTL?

2016-12-16 15:57:03 GMT <ohej> I would not think so. I'm not allowed to bring a laptop

2016-12-16 15:57:50 GMT <douglascrp> one idea... I really like watching some of the older summit videos

2016-12-16 15:57:59 GMT <douglascrp> there are lots of topics that are kind of old, but still useful

2016-12-16 15:58:22 GMT <douglascrp> maybe getting a list of the most watched summit videos and update them

2016-12-16 15:58:34 GMT <bmejias> douglascrp nice idea.

2016-12-16 15:58:47 GMT <fcorti> douglascrp creating custom models, for instance?

2016-12-16 15:58:48 GMT <douglascrp> my last example is Martin's one on batch processing

2016-12-16 15:59:09 GMT <douglascrp> that helped me a lot in a project

2016-12-16 15:59:35 GMT <bmejias> ah hehehe... I remember that

2016-12-16 16:00:05 GMT <AxelFaust> Enter the "curly brace wars"

2016-12-16 16:00:16 GMT <jpotts> Let's talk about spaces versus tabs next

2016-12-16 16:00:26 GMT <bmejias> I listed the { incident in the WTF lightning talk in Barcelona

2016-12-16 16:00:42 GMT <bmejias> soft tabs

2016-12-16 16:00:47 GMT <resplin> Tab lovers are fascists!

2016-12-16 16:00:48 GMT <bmejias> I write python now

2016-12-16 16:00:56 GMT <bmejias> so, expand them to spaces.

2016-12-16 16:01:03 GMT <resplin> Space users are communists!

2016-12-16 16:01:05 GMT <bmejias> just don't put spaces at the end of the line

2016-12-16 16:01:19 GMT <bmejias> resplin hahaha

2016-12-16 16:01:58 GMT <AxelFaust> resplin: What are you then? Some kind of "earth-loving, hippy, alternative no-whitespace using tree-hugger"?

2016-12-16 16:02:41 GMT <AxelFaust> Because why format and indent at all when each byte consumes power and increases our dependence on fossil fuel / atomic energy, right?

2016-12-16 16:02:42 GMT <resplin> All the white space in my code is UTF+200B Zero Width Space

2016-12-16 16:02:56 GMT <AxelFaust> Even worse... TWO bytes!

2016-12-16 16:02:56 GMT <bmejias> resplin just switches from tabs to spaces and back every time his family grows

2016-12-16 16:03:08 GMT <jpotts> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsoOG6ZeyUI

2016-12-16 16:03:15 GMT <douglascrp> I'll have to rewatch it from the beginning

2016-12-16 16:03:28 GMT <AxelFaust> jpotts: That for sure is the best video about that topic

2016-12-16 16:03:43 GMT <kgastaldo> I've got to drop for another meeting. Thanks for watching!

2016-12-16 16:06:08 GMT <resplin> douglascrp: Your suggestion to update some of the top old summit videos is a great one. We ran out of time before I could work it into the broadcast, but it is one we will track.

2016-12-16 16:06:16 GMT <bmejias> hahaha... awesome video... thanks jpotts

2016-12-16 16:06:32 GMT <bmejias> she has a lot of potential... spaces over tabs, vim over emacs

2016-12-16 16:06:48 GMT <bmejias> she just need to configure tab expansion in her .vimrc

2016-12-16 16:07:01 GMT <bmejias> and the tab guy is named "Richard".... hahaha

2016-12-16 16:11:38 GMT <resplin> Bah! He misses the best argument for tabs: that it gives the viewer the ability to define the width, instead of forcing the viewer to accept the author's formatting!

2016-12-16 16:13:00 GMT <bmejias> well... I would agree for java and c/c++

2016-12-16 16:13:12 GMT <bmejias> but for python, we are all good with 4 spaces.

2016-12-16 16:20:50 GMT <bmejias> ok guys.... dinner time over here. Nice weekend to everyone!

2016-12-16 16:22:11 GMT <AxelFaust> You too

2016-12-16 16:22:20 GMT <AxelFaust> Only 2 hours for me until Rogue One...

2016-12-16 16:33:29 GMT <resplin> Only eight hours until I log out of work for 3 weeks!

2016-12-16 16:33:35 GMT <resplin> Maybe I can get it to 6

2016-12-16 16:38:01 GMT <resplin> I won't be seeing Rogue One until next Wednesday.

2016-12-16 16:48:45 GMT <___Dave> what's "Rogue One" ?

2016-12-16 17:48:09 GMT <douglascrp> resplin, glad you liked the idea

2016-12-16 17:49:25 GMT <rulezzz> hi

2016-12-16 18:04:36 GMT <rulezzz> I have a new instalation on centos and try to install alfresco-community-installer-201605-linux-x64.bin as a root after the wizard end I try loggin IP:8080 and I get: Cannot find Alfresco Repository on this server. (Does this application have access to alfresco-global.properties? Does this application have cross-context permissions?)

2016-12-16 18:42:39 GMT <jpotts> rulezzz: Installing as root is a bad idea, but if you absolutely have to for some reason, have you tried `ps -ef|grep tomcat` to see if the process is running? Have you looked in $ALFRESCO_HOME/tomcat/logs/catalina.out to see if the log sheds any light on the problem?

2016-12-16 18:58:29 GMT <rulezzz> jpotts thanks for the aswer should I add the user alfresco and install alfresco from this user? also http://pastebin.com/rE24sa5e

2016-12-16 18:58:30 GMT <alfbot> Title: [root@alfresco alfresco]# ps -ef|grep tomcat root 1574 1 4 05:48 - Pastebin.com (at pastebin.com)

2016-12-16 19:35:46 GMT <jpotts> rulezzz: Yes, create a user called "alfresco" then switch to that when you run the install. Or, now that you've installed, you can chown/chgrp recursively all of the files in /opt/alfresco to be owned by alfresco.alfresco if you want.

2016-12-16 19:36:06 GMT <jpotts> rulezzz: In any case, looks like Alfresco is running

2016-12-16 19:36:48 GMT <jpotts> rulezzz: I'm wondering if there are more exceptions earlier in the log

2016-12-16 19:53:13 GMT <douglascrp> rulezzz, jpotts selinux maybe?

2016-12-16 19:58:09 GMT <rulezzz> douglascrp I disable iptables and SELINUX=disabled

2016-12-16 20:04:14 GMT <douglascrp> QQ about solr tokenization

2016-12-16 20:04:39 GMT <douglascrp> does solr consider | as a tokenizer character? or a "stop-word"?

2016-12-16 21:44:43 GMT <rulezzz> :'(
