2017-03-15 08:52:21 GMT *** Guest70443 is now known as yregaieg

2017-03-15 08:52:29 GMT <yregaieg> Morning guys !

2017-03-15 09:10:51 GMT * yregaieg greets IanW1

2017-03-15 09:11:03 GMT <yregaieg> IanW1: thanks for your help from yesterday

2017-03-15 09:11:51 GMT <IanW1> yregaieg: No problem

2017-03-15 09:11:58 GMT <yregaieg> it turned out that I can not have context files in my subsystem in the extension directory outside an instance folder (in your case it was ldap1)

2017-03-15 09:12:52 GMT <angelborroy> yregaieg why not include that context files inside the AMP?

2017-03-15 09:12:57 GMT <yregaieg> but as soon as switched to the other location (alfresco/subsystems/Authentication/ldap) it works without issues to all instances

2017-03-15 09:13:04 GMT <IanW1> That sounds about right

2017-03-15 09:13:15 GMT <yregaieg> angelborroy: that what I was doing

2017-03-15 09:13:38 GMT <angelborroy> what is different from the sample I gave you yesterday?

2017-03-15 09:13:49 GMT <angelborroy> I want to understand what is wrong with that code

2017-03-15 09:14:31 GMT <yregaieg> not really, I guess you got lucky the jvm picked your *-extension-context.xml file after the OOTB context file

2017-03-15 09:14:39 GMT <IanW1> I can't remember if I'd thought of trying the Authentication/ldap directory

2017-03-15 09:14:50 GMT <yregaieg> where I needed to use postprocessors to alter bean definitions

2017-03-15 09:15:20 GMT <angelborroy> I don’t think posprocessor is required at all

2017-03-15 09:15:45 GMT <angelborroy> I have about ten projects using subsystem extension in that way and they are all working fine

2017-03-15 09:15:52 GMT <angelborroy> in different OS and Alfresco releases

2017-03-15 09:17:13 GMT <angelborroy> Other people working also in the same way

2017-03-15 09:18:20 GMT <yregaieg> angelborroy: in the case of the last link, I bet it works because instance context overrides defaults

2017-03-15 09:19:29 GMT <yregaieg> but in the link from yesterday : https://github.com/keensoft/alfresco-summit-2014/blob/master/10-enhancements/06-custom-ldap-id/custom-ldap-id-repo/src/main/amp/config/alfresco/subsystems/Authentication/ldap/ldap-extension-context.xml it must be something related to the JVM class loading luckily picking the customization last, overriding defaults

2017-03-15 09:21:19 GMT <yregaieg> I have a solr instance that crached during a full reindex of an alfresco repository (5.1.1) I do have an hs_err_pidxxx.log and replay_pidxxx.log and I would like to have pointers on how did it crash !

2017-03-15 09:21:34 GMT <yregaieg> Of course I would prefer having some pointers over someone examining the files for me and coming with an analysis

2017-03-15 09:21:47 GMT <yregaieg> at first glance, it looks like there were too many blocked threads upon jvm crash

2017-03-15 09:22:28 GMT <yregaieg> and I know for sure that solr is tracking alfresco at 15 seconds intervals and that sometimes (probably most of the time) alfresco needs more than 15 seconds to come back with a response (thanks to MSSQL sloppy performance of course !)

2017-03-15 09:22:48 GMT <yregaieg> would that explain the crash ?

2017-03-15 09:52:35 GMT <Hiten> Hi Guys,

2017-03-15 09:53:39 GMT <Hiten> I am trying to get the comments of a node in my custom action but I am not able to. Can anyone please help. Below are the lines of code that I am using to get the comments

2017-03-15 09:53:42 GMT <Hiten> NodeRef commentNodeRef = commentService.getShareCommentsTopic(actionedUponNodeRef);

2017-03-15 09:53:52 GMT <Hiten> List<ChildAssociationRef> comment = nodeService.getChildAssocs(actionedUponNodeRef, ContentModel.ASSOC_CONTAINS, QName.createQName(NamespaceService.CONTENT_MODEL_1_0_URI, "comment"), true);

2017-03-15 09:58:54 GMT <bhagyas> Hiten: You have a comments container which contains comments

2017-03-15 09:59:16 GMT <bhagyas> and I think its using the same model as discussions

2017-03-15 10:00:15 GMT <angelborroy> bhaygas ForumModel

2017-03-15 10:01:17 GMT <angelborroy> every comment is a POST (fm:post)

2017-03-15 10:04:20 GMT <Hiten> fm:topic I think

2017-03-15 10:05:13 GMT <bhagyas> yeah, been a while since I was around that place

2017-03-15 10:05:16 GMT <bhagyas> :D

2017-03-15 10:44:35 GMT <fwu> hi all!

2017-03-15 10:51:35 GMT <fwu> ppl, does anyone ever used the group finder object in an advanced search form?

2017-03-15 10:52:34 GMT <fwu> I would like to use Alfresco security groups as the source of the group to search for, instead of defining a custom list that would only be a copy of those groups. Something that would be hard to maintain.

2017-03-15 10:56:21 GMT <yregaieg> fwu there is an addon for that

2017-03-15 10:56:27 GMT <yregaieg> let me look it up

2017-03-15 10:58:15 GMT <fwu> yregaieg, thanks!

2017-03-15 11:01:36 GMT <yregaieg> fwu: check this https://github.com/douglascrp/alfresco-group-member-control

2017-03-15 11:01:37 GMT <alfbot> Title: GitHub - douglascrp/alfresco-group-member-control: Custom form control that allows you to select users only from a specific group (at github.com)

2017-03-15 11:06:01 GMT <fwu> yregaieg, I will look at it now. Thank you!

2017-03-15 11:10:27 GMT <fwu> yregaieg, unfortunatly, this control doesnt seems what Im looking for :(

2017-03-15 11:11:15 GMT <yregaieg> fwu, it provide a confugurable form control to restrict a people picker to users from one single group, that seemed exactly what you were looking for

2017-03-15 11:11:20 GMT <fwu> What Im looking for is to use the search groups object in an advanced form search. So that when the user selects a group using that search group control, the value will be used by the advanced search form.

2017-03-15 11:12:14 GMT <fwu> my point is not to restrict people, but to select a group. But the real goal is to use it in an advanced search form.

2017-03-15 11:13:02 GMT <fwu> search group picker ... I beleive this is the name. So the control exists, as I use it in the workflows forms. But I need to use it in an advanced search form.

2017-03-15 11:13:30 GMT <fwu> sorry if Im not explain myself clearly

2017-03-15 11:18:56 GMT <yregaieg> fwu: now I get what you want to do

2017-03-15 11:19:15 GMT <yregaieg> still that addon xould be a great starting point for doing what you want to do

2017-03-15 11:28:43 GMT <fwu> The problem here is that I just can search for values I saved in the document properties before

2017-03-15 11:29:04 GMT <fwu> the group finder picher will return a complex object or something like that

2017-03-15 11:29:20 GMT <fwu> I need to get the part of the value that I add to the propertie

2017-03-15 11:29:30 GMT <fwu> so I can search for the documents

2017-03-15 11:30:02 GMT <fwu> right now I have an independent list of groups that we have to maintain.. although the groups are set as Alfresco security groups

2017-03-15 11:48:39 GMT <fwu> ppl, in a workflow screen I have a dropdown field with a custom constraint applied. So I get a list of "things"

2017-03-15 11:49:05 GMT <fwu> in the workflow code, I can get the description of the item easily. But how to get the code of it?

2017-03-15 11:50:14 GMT <fwu> I get the desciption from this: execution.getVariable('my Field')

2017-03-15 11:51:19 GMT <fwu> but this returns the description of the item

2017-03-15 11:51:41 GMT <fwu> I can get the disctionary service to get all the list, but...

2017-03-15 11:52:44 GMT <fwu> the description I get is not that on the list, but it comes form a messages file

2017-03-15 11:53:12 GMT <fwu> so I get the "translated" description and not the real description. Thus I cant find it using the dictonary service...arghhh

2017-03-15 12:25:11 GMT <angelborroy_> Very dissapointed again: https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-21827

2017-03-15 12:25:18 GMT <angelborroy_> resplin I’m loosing the faith https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-21827

2017-03-15 12:26:37 GMT <angelborroy_> resplin why communicate issues? Thery are always ignored…

2017-03-15 12:34:00 GMT <fwu> I resolved the label/code issue. What I get is a code indeed...

2017-03-15 12:34:32 GMT <fwu> Im still looking in a way to use the group search picker inside a extended search form

2017-03-15 12:37:33 GMT <yregaieg> angelborroy_: your client is definitely loosing features

2017-03-15 12:38:01 GMT <angelborroy_> yregaieg I know and it’s impossible to translate their feeling to Alfresco

2017-03-15 12:38:18 GMT <angelborroy_> yregaieg btw, train discouns for BeeCon are now available

2017-03-15 12:38:38 GMT <yregaieg> but still I did not get the usecase :-P

2017-03-15 12:38:49 GMT <yregaieg> aha ! Great news! thanks

2017-03-15 12:38:53 GMT <angelborroy_> automatic classification

2017-03-15 12:39:11 GMT <angelborroy_> First levels folder hierarchy is created in a read-only mode for everyone

2017-03-15 12:39:23 GMT <angelborroy_> So users has to drop off the user in one of the folders provided

2017-03-15 12:39:38 GMT <angelborroy_> They have no ability to create new classification concepts

2017-03-15 12:39:47 GMT <angelborroy_> It’s a common case for Libraries

2017-03-15 12:41:39 GMT <yregaieg> aha, so the only problem is that you can not get rid of sitemanager permission ?

2017-03-15 12:41:47 GMT <angelborroy_> right

2017-03-15 12:41:57 GMT <angelborroy_> obviously I’ve developed a patch for this

2017-03-15 12:42:01 GMT <yregaieg> btw, couldn't find info about train discount on beecon site

2017-03-15 12:42:37 GMT <angelborroy_> http://beecon.buzz/2017/venue/#train-discounts

2017-03-15 12:42:38 GMT <alfbot> Title: BeeCon 2017 (at beecon.buzz)

2017-03-15 12:43:52 GMT <yregaieg> angelborroy_: I agree with you: I am OK with alfresco changing this behaviour to meet the bigger audience requirement. However, I would've apreciated it if they provided a configuration property to enforce SM permission / keep old behaviour

2017-03-15 12:43:59 GMT <yregaieg> angelborroy_: thanks again

2017-03-15 12:52:38 GMT <IanW1> angelborroy_: I, sort of, have the opposite problem with Site Managers - https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ACE-5679

2017-03-15 13:09:53 GMT <yregaieg> angelborroy_: listed hotels on the site have better deals on booking

2017-03-15 13:38:32 GMT <douglascrp> good morning everyone

2017-03-15 13:54:37 GMT <angelborroy> yregaieg probably, this is just the deal they are providing to me

2017-03-15 13:56:08 GMT <yregaieg> I know, it is ;-)

2017-03-15 14:02:23 GMT <yregaieg> Guys, how can check the number of results returned by a query in JS

2017-03-15 14:02:32 GMT <yregaieg> (is it even possible OOTB)

2017-03-15 14:03:14 GMT <yregaieg> results.length gives me 1000, which I guess is max page size

2017-03-15 14:18:24 GMT <msmj> hi, is it possible to install a fresh instance of alfresco community and take the dataset from an old 5.0.0c ?

2017-03-15 14:19:57 GMT <yregaieg> ~since AFaust

2017-03-15 14:19:57 GMT <alfbot> yregaieg: <yregaieg> I have a solr instance that crached during a full reindex of an alfresco repository (5.1.1) I do have an hs_err_pidxxx.log and replay_pidxxx.log and I would like to have pointers on how did it crash !, <yregaieg> Of course I would prefer having some pointers over someone examining the files for me and coming with an analysis, <yregaieg> at first glance, it looks like there were too many blocked (15 more messages)

2017-03-15 14:21:03 GMT <yregaieg> msmj: as simple as backuping the old instance, and recovering that backup on the new one ;-)

2017-03-15 14:22:09 GMT <AFaust> I saw that in the logs

2017-03-15 14:22:31 GMT <msmj> ok yregaieg thx, i wanted to be sure because i have a new instance running now but i diddnt manage to recover the backup on the new one , the repo says 'no content'

2017-03-15 14:23:24 GMT <AFaust> The only pointers I have for yreqaieg (short of analysing myself) is "look in that hs_err_pid file" and see if you can find anything that looks suspicious.

2017-03-15 14:23:46 GMT <AFaust> Crashes can be anything so I have no generic checklist...

2017-03-15 14:24:00 GMT <yregaieg> AFaust: most threads are blocked

2017-03-15 14:24:41 GMT <yregaieg> those which are not blocked the file says they are in native

2017-03-15 14:26:56 GMT <yregaieg> AFaust: and the message from the header of the file seems to suggest that some native call from some dll failed to allocate memory (and suggested among other to reduce heap size)

2017-03-15 14:27:10 GMT <yregaieg> note that I have 36 Gb of RAM on that system

2017-03-15 14:27:22 GMT <yregaieg> and xmx=xms=32000m

2017-03-15 14:43:54 GMT <yregaieg> here is my hs_err in case some one had some time to check it out : http://pastebin.com/h762W4Lx

2017-03-15 14:43:55 GMT <alfbot> Title: [Bash] hs_error - Pastebin.com (at pastebin.com)

2017-03-15 14:44:30 GMT <angelborroy> Windows???? come on Younes! :-P

2017-03-15 14:45:03 GMT <angelborroy> Definitively AFaust is the right one to help with this

2017-03-15 14:45:23 GMT <yregaieg> angelborroy: my sole and only Window client

2017-03-15 14:45:38 GMT <angelborroy> lucky you ;-)

2017-03-15 14:45:41 GMT <yregaieg> nightmare of every engineer at the company

2017-03-15 14:45:47 GMT <douglascrp> yregaieg, I also have 2

2017-03-15 14:46:05 GMT <douglascrp> stubborn clients that do not want to hear us

2017-03-15 14:46:11 GMT <yregaieg> we were actually this close to have them host minimalistic linux for our docker setup

2017-03-15 14:46:43 GMT <yregaieg> but they were afraid as they do not have experienced System Administrators for Linux

2017-03-15 14:47:38 GMT <yregaieg> angelborroy: What makes this even worse, is the fact that this alfresco repo is backed by a MS SQL Database, just to make it more fun <grin>

2017-03-15 14:47:57 GMT <angelborroy> “real nightmare” is the right term

2017-03-15 14:57:08 GMT <AFaust> yregaieg: I hope you have the MS SQL set to use option(recompile) for select

2017-03-15 14:58:36 GMT <AFaust> yregaieg: From the hs_error file you should see that Java heap is not the issue

2017-03-15 14:58:49 GMT <angelborroy> AFaust testing a custom activiti workflow inside share and receiving email notifications in English

2017-03-15 14:58:57 GMT <AFaust> Hehe...

2017-03-15 14:58:58 GMT <angelborroy> AFaust issue or is it my fault?

2017-03-15 14:59:04 GMT <AFaust> Both...

2017-03-15 14:59:09 GMT <angelborroy> hehe

2017-03-15 14:59:42 GMT <AFaust> Issue 1) - Alfresco will only send email in system locale for asynchronously triggered emails which a workflow with a timer for notification definitely is

2017-03-15 14:59:58 GMT <AFaust> Alfresco by design has no information about the preferred user locale

2017-03-15 15:00:08 GMT <bhagyas> AFaust: +1

2017-03-15 15:00:10 GMT <AFaust> And thus cannot be "more intelligent" about this

2017-03-15 15:00:10 GMT <angelborroy> my server is configured in Spanish

2017-03-15 15:00:20 GMT <angelborroy> locale for the server is ES_es

2017-03-15 15:00:33 GMT <angelborroy> in fact workflows by default are using Spanish templates

2017-03-15 15:00:42 GMT <bhagyas> angelborroy: The easiest workaround is to specify or persist the workflow locale within the instance and use it for template selection

2017-03-15 15:00:56 GMT <AFaust> Ok - but is the custom workflow that is sending that specific email providing Spanish l10n files?

2017-03-15 15:02:08 GMT <bhagyas> angelborroy: For sharebox emails, we request the 'Sharer' to specify the locale(language) when they choose to share a folder

2017-03-15 15:02:19 GMT <AFaust> bhagyas: I have recently implemented a small AOP for user authentication that persists the user locale via the cm:person object. And another AOP to default the locale for any email action based on the target user (if that can be uniquely identified)

2017-03-15 15:02:36 GMT <angelborroy> I’m not specifying i10 resources at all

2017-03-15 15:02:51 GMT <bhagyas> AFaust: I think its a fair assumption to continuously update it with the users last known locale when they log in

2017-03-15 15:03:30 GMT <AFaust> Least invasive option - of course could also add option to profile page for user to select like is done in JIRA and co...

2017-03-15 15:03:41 GMT <bhagyas> nuxeo allows individual users to set their own locale and time zone

2017-03-15 15:03:48 GMT <bhagyas> yes

2017-03-15 15:04:18 GMT <bhagyas> AFaust: That would be the ideal

2017-03-15 15:04:51 GMT <AFaust> I hate those kind of required settings. Just use the locale and time zone of my current client and be done with it.

2017-03-15 15:05:28 GMT <bhagyas> AFaust: That's quite a bad assumption

2017-03-15 15:05:42 GMT <bhagyas> I discovered this when I once visited India, and everything was presented in Hindi

2017-03-15 15:05:59 GMT <bhagyas> at that time Google wasn't available in Sinhalese

2017-03-15 15:06:10 GMT <bhagyas> so I always used to expect English

2017-03-15 15:06:10 GMT <bhagyas> :D

2017-03-15 15:06:45 GMT <angelborroy> I’m using default bpm:startTask

2017-03-15 15:07:00 GMT <angelborroy> and it’s a wf:activitiReviewTask

2017-03-15 15:15:09 GMT <mrks_js> is there an alfresco records management audit example (for rm 2.5) somewhere to find?

2017-03-15 15:15:50 GMT <mrks_js> an exported audit in html format

2017-03-15 15:18:26 GMT <AFaust> yregaieg: I can see no direct info about what kind of memory request caused the crash

2017-03-15 15:18:58 GMT <yregaieg> interesting discussion I had now with one of the ops on #solr, suggesting that Solr does not need big heap for best performance and that 2-8 GB is usually enough (even for few millions documents repos) but it does need a lot of memory outside heap for caching

2017-03-15 15:21:15 GMT <yregaieg> AFaust: The guys from #solr suggested I decrease my heap size to ~8-10Gb and said that 20-24 GB system memory should be enough in my case: ~11M enteries to be indexed (nodes+ACLs), ~16 Gb final index size

2017-03-15 15:25:44 GMT <angelborroy> AFaust wow, I’ve never realised this

2017-03-15 15:26:06 GMT <angelborroy> AFaust email notifications are sent depending on browser locale

2017-03-15 15:26:30 GMT <angelborroy> AFaust I’ve always thought that they depend on server locale

2017-03-15 15:26:43 GMT <yregaieg> angelborroy: I would say depending on thread locale

2017-03-15 15:27:01 GMT <angelborroy> yregaieg can you ellaborate?

2017-03-15 15:27:22 GMT <angelborroy> I’ve tested from a browser in English (my default one) and from a browser in Spanish

2017-03-15 15:27:37 GMT <angelborroy> The first is sent in English and the second one in Spanish

2017-03-15 15:27:39 GMT <yregaieg> which would be server locale in the case of scheduled job, activiti jobs ..

2017-03-15 15:27:40 GMT <angelborroy> for the same step

2017-03-15 15:27:45 GMT <angelborroy> ah, ok

2017-03-15 15:28:05 GMT <angelborroy> I’m still learning Alfresco everyday… yup!

2017-03-15 15:28:31 GMT <yregaieg> but would be detected from the request if the thread is actually serving a http request

2017-03-15 15:28:48 GMT <angelborroy> good to know, thanks!

2017-03-15 15:37:52 GMT <yregaieg> ~later tell angelborroy in case you are not aware of it, Alvex has pretty interesting helpers for workflow development with embedded activiti in alfresco.... very very useful, a real time saver !

2017-03-15 16:43:43 GMT <yregaieg> AFaust: he is not online, use later tell

2017-03-15 16:49:43 GMT <AFaust> oh didn't see that

2017-03-15 17:18:33 GMT <resplin> ~later tell angelborroy Regarding ALF-21827, I don't think it is fair to say that issues are always ignored. They generate a lot of discussion and consideration.

2017-03-15 17:19:01 GMT <resplin> ~later tell angelborroy But that specific request has not been made by other people. That is the value you provide as a consultant.

2017-03-15 17:30:52 GMT <resplin> ~later tell angelborry I find the issue instructive because it shows the impact changes in functionality have on unexpected use cases. It's a lesson that we need to be careful. But we can't walk-back a decision that was made years ago.

2017-03-15 18:03:04 GMT <fwu> ppl, is it possible to add subgroups to security groups in Alfresco community?

2017-03-15 18:03:27 GMT <fwu> also, if I delete a group, will the users associated to that group be also deleted?

2017-03-15 18:04:49 GMT <fwu> here someone is saying that deleting a group will delete the users associated with the group...

2017-03-15 18:04:50 GMT <fwu> http://docs.alfresco.com/4.2/tasks/tuh-usergroups-delete.html

2017-03-15 18:04:51 GMT <alfbot> Title: Deleting a user group | Alfresco Documentation (at docs.alfresco.com)

2017-03-15 18:04:55 GMT <fwu> does this make any sense?

2017-03-15 18:05:43 GMT <fwu> "Deleting a group also deletes all sub-groups and users associated with it. "

2017-03-15 18:26:15 GMT <fwu> or maybe the security group structure is only flat for the community version?

2017-03-15 19:14:09 GMT <douglascrp> fwu, definitely it is not flat

2017-03-15 19:59:06 GMT <douglascrp> AFaust, hey dude

2017-03-15 19:59:19 GMT <douglascrp> just a qq question on the ootbee support tools

2017-03-15 19:59:42 GMT <douglascrp> in the project's page, the information about maven dependency is still using the SNAPSHOT version

2017-03-15 20:00:23 GMT <douglascrp> is that a mistake or you intend to not to keep it in sync with the version available in maven repository?

2017-03-15 20:16:48 GMT <AFaust> douglascrp: It is not a mistake per se. I have just not updated that in a PR since the release. The problem is that due to the delay in publishing to Maven Central I did not want to update it with the release PR since at that time the new version would not have been available yet.

2017-03-15 20:42:13 GMT <douglascrp> AFaust, got it

2017-03-15 23:27:05 GMT <eswbitto> AFaust How can I give you this error without it being public?

2017-03-15 23:29:27 GMT <AFaust> You can still anonymise it so it is safe for the public. With some basic regex-search and replace you should be able to replace all user details in one or two minutes with simple "zzzz" values

2017-03-15 23:30:54 GMT <AFaust> Alternatively if you could provide an excerpt around the actual offending line +/- the previous and next 1 or 2 data entities (with line numbers), that should be enough...

2017-03-15 23:55:01 GMT <fwu> back

2017-03-15 23:55:43 GMT <fwu> douglascrp, if it is not flat, why we cant see the hierarchy in no place in Alfresco?

2017-03-15 23:56:32 GMT <fwu> If I set a workflow step for a parent group, will all the people from all subgroups get the task in their task list?
