Daily Log for #alfresco

2017-03-30 06:47:47 GMT <qwebirc80433> Hi,

2017-03-30 06:47:49 GMT <qwebirc80433> How to enable guest user login in alfresco share ? how to login to alfresco as guest user ?

2017-03-30 07:28:35 GMT <bhagyas> qwebirc80433: you don't have it as a feature now, it was in old Alfresco explorer, but not with Share

2017-03-30 08:38:36 GMT <qwebirc29435> Hi, in alfresco the user quota does not seems to work.. If I set user quota as 1 MB the user is able to upload more than that.. Is it a enterprise edition feature ? I am using alfresco community version

2017-03-30 08:39:26 GMT <Tichodroma> no, it works in CE, too

2017-03-30 08:41:26 GMT <qwebirc29435> do I need to add any configuration ??

2017-03-30 08:47:57 GMT <mrks_js> qwebirc29435: you must enable quotas in your properties, yes

2017-03-30 08:48:27 GMT <qwebirc29435> this property system.usages.enabled=true ??

2017-03-30 08:49:09 GMT <qwebirc29435> after the restart the alfresco is showing the content size uploaded by the user in admin tools page

2017-03-30 08:49:16 GMT <qwebirc29435> thanks

2017-03-30 08:58:53 GMT <qwebirc80433> thanks @bhagyas

2017-03-30 09:38:25 GMT <AFaust> Loftux: Noticed that your Ubuntu install script uses Tomcat 8.0.38 - do/did you encounter some classloading issues with it? I am currently trying out that version myself and with 201702 GA I get an issue with a String index-out-of-bounds error on the Repository Admin Console start page

2017-03-30 09:45:03 GMT <Loftux> AFaust: Not that I can recall, there are issue with 8.0.39 since it is stricter with illegal characters in the url.

2017-03-30 09:49:07 GMT <AFaust> I found a bug report that exactly matches the kind of error I am seeing (apart from line numbers that are +/- 10), but that states issue fixes as of 8.0.33 - strange

2017-03-30 09:49:07 GMT <AFaust> https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=58999

2017-03-30 09:49:09 GMT <alfbot> Title: 58999 – StringIndexOutOfBoundsException WebAppClassLoaderBase.filter() (at bz.apache.org)

2017-03-30 09:51:58 GMT <AFaust> Ah - ok. The tomcat8 in the Ubuntu 16.04 package repository is a 8.0.32 - not a 8.0.38. That explains it

2017-03-30 10:10:22 GMT <MagdaLenA> Hello

2017-03-30 10:11:15 GMT <MagdaLenA> I'd like to ask if someone can help me. I've made changes to a .jar file and i've tested locally and everything is fine, but whenever i try to put in deployment, it won't recognize the changes

2017-03-30 10:12:01 GMT <MagdaLenA> I've googled around but no help, since everything that I try work locally but not in deployment

2017-03-30 10:12:04 GMT <MagdaLenA> thanks :)

2017-03-30 10:12:38 GMT <AFaust> What the heck?

2017-03-30 10:13:22 GMT <AFaust> Was there seriously an expectation for a response in less than 60 seconds?

2017-03-30 10:15:04 GMT <AFaust> Magdalena: What JAR did you make changes to?

2017-03-30 10:16:36 GMT <Magdalena> it's from the share, it's an alvex jar

2017-03-30 10:17:02 GMT <Magdalena> in pom.xml as a dependecy it's called every jar

2017-03-30 10:17:15 GMT <Magdalena> every jar is called*

2017-03-30 10:17:44 GMT <yreg> AFaust, what happens to invalidating cache on cluster rejoin

2017-03-30 10:17:48 GMT <yreg> are they flushed ?

2017-03-30 10:18:27 GMT <Magdalena> i make an amp of the project (it's a workflow) and then just install it on production/deployment

2017-03-30 10:19:02 GMT <yreg> or do they continue to hold "probably inaccurate" data ?

2017-03-30 10:19:31 GMT <AFaust> yreg: Nothing happens on cluster rejoin

2017-03-30 10:22:05 GMT <AFaust> Magdalena: You are not making much sense to me. "every jar is called" - is there a JAR called "every.jar" or are you simply saying that you added every JAR to the POM as a dependency (which is what one does)?

2017-03-30 10:22:58 GMT <AFaust> And did you really change the Alvex JAR or just include it in your AMP?

2017-03-30 10:23:30 GMT <AFaust> e.g. trying to override one of the classes from the JAR via the classpath lookup?

2017-03-30 10:28:38 GMT <Magdalena> no, no, what i meant that it still stays as a dependency that i haven't changed that part. I've probably made a mistake that i didn't make the changes via the classpath, i changed it directly in the file, and just added the file to the jar (since i can open a .jar file with winzip)

2017-03-30 10:29:16 GMT <Magdalena> I should try to add it in a separate script and change it via the classpath lookup, which makes sense

2017-03-30 20:44:58 GMT <digcat> ~later tell yreg good job re api what was the fix in the end

2017-03-30 20:44:58 GMT <alfbot> digcat: The operation succeeded.
