2017-06-21 09:49:46 GMT <fwu> hi all!
2017-06-21 09:54:07 GMT <fwu> ppl, can someone tellme the link to the maven catalog I must point to in order to use sdk 3.0?
2017-06-21 09:55:04 GMT <fwu> here it says that i must choose the archetype version 3.0.0: http://docs.alfresco.com/5.2/concepts/sdk-getting-started.html
2017-06-21 09:55:05 GMT <alfbot> Title: Getting started with Alfresco SDK 3.0 | Alfresco Documentation (at docs.alfresco.com)
2017-06-21 09:55:24 GMT <fwu> however in the nexus catalog I only have 3.0.0 beta
2017-06-21 09:55:33 GMT <fwu> so I must be using the wrong catalog...

2017-06-21 11:04:08 GMT <Ayub> could some one let me know the stable version of Alfresco community edition ?
2017-06-21 11:16:50 GMT <angelborroy> Ayub 201704 is the latest stable release
2017-06-21 11:17:17 GMT <angelborroy> Ayub available at https://community.alfresco.com/docs/DOC-6847-alfresco-community-edition-file-list-201704

2017-06-21 11:17:35 GMT <Ayub> aangelborroy: thank you, does this edition support integration with kofax image capture release script ?
2017-06-21 11:21:14 GMT <angelborroy> ayub not by default
2017-06-21 11:21:25 GMT <angelborroy> ayub you need Enterprise Edition for that
2017-06-21 11:21:28 GMT <alfbot> DarkStar1: Sent 1 week, 4 days, 23 hours, and 11 minutes ago: <resplin> Can you please open the kerberos issue you confirmed in the forums? I think it is a real issue, but I need to better understand what you configured to reproduce it.
2017-06-21 11:22:18 GMT <DarkStar1> Hey people.
2017-06-21 11:22:47 GMT <mrks_js> Hey Lanre
2017-06-21 11:22:50 GMT <Ayub> angelborroy:what customizatons I would need to do if I want to use community edition with kofax or any other image capturing tool ?
2017-06-21 11:23:04 GMT <angelborroy> just a CMIS integration or so
2017-06-21 11:23:12 GMT <angelborroy> to gather the metadata captured from the document
2017-06-21 11:23:47 GMT <Ayub> angelborrow: thank you!!
2017-06-21 11:24:06 GMT <DarkStar1> ~later tell resplin Sorry for the late response. I've been busy all over the place, switching between all my tasks like an x86 CPU. I finally got around to looking at the issue and resolved it earlier.
2017-06-21 11:24:06 GMT <alfbot> DarkStar1: The operation succeeded.
2017-06-21 11:24:12 GMT <DarkStar1> mrks_js: o/
2017-06-21 11:29:55 GMT <fwu> Ayub, I believe kofax has a cmis module. You just need to point it to Alfresco cmis endpoint. You will then be able to index documents from kofax and to start workflows in Alfresco using folder roles for instance, whenever a document coming from kofax is saved in a folder.
2017-06-21 11:31:43 GMT <Ayub> fwu: thank you for the information
2017-06-21 14:13:10 GMT <fwu> ppl, i have repo and share amps builded for 4.2.f. I want now to port this to 5.2 using sdk 3.0. As far as I understand, if I swithc to jar deploys I will need to rebuild my projects. However, it seems I can stay with amps, right? In this way, could my "old" projects be easily migrated?
2017-06-21 14:13:38 GMT <jpotts> You can migrate your old projects regardless of whether or not you switch to JARs
2017-06-21 14:14:02 GMT <fwu> jpotts, without the need to copy each file one by one?
2017-06-21 14:14:16 GMT <jpotts> Copy each file?
2017-06-21 14:14:37 GMT <fwu> yes, to a new folder structure. Or is the strucuture the same?
2017-06-21 14:15:09 GMT <jpotts> Ah, I see, yes, the folder structure is different, but it is not that painful to re-organize
2017-06-21 14:15:51 GMT <fwu> but if I stay with amps projects, is the folder structure the same? or I need to change it also?
2017-06-21 14:15:54 GMT <jpotts> So any of your projects that you are moving to 3.0.0 will need to be re-organized into the new structure. But the decision to produce an AMP as well as a JAR is simply a pom.xml config.
2017-06-21 14:16:06 GMT <fwu> ok
2017-06-21 14:16:07 GMT <fwu> i see
2017-06-21 14:16:37 GMT <fwu> i thought there would something different. but if it is only the pom config, then I understand
2017-06-21 14:17:04 GMT <fwu> so, migrating to jar or amps would be the same thing in that context.
2017-06-21 14:17:12 GMT <jpotts> Correct, by default the SDK 3.0.0 pom will produce a JAR. But there is a section you can uncomment that will cause it to also produce an AMP. No structural changes necessary.
2017-06-21 14:18:06 GMT <fwu> but is there a tutorial about migrating from old sdk? I read your tutorial but was about creating something new.
2017-06-21 14:18:25 GMT <fwu> by the way, the compatibility matrix link is broken!
2017-06-21 14:18:54 GMT <jpotts> I found the easiest way to migrate is to create a new project using the archetype, and then either move your old project into the new project or just make your existing project look like the new project in terms of structure and file content
2017-06-21 14:19:46 GMT <fwu> ok, jpotts. nevertheless, I must always start from a new project, right?
2017-06-21 14:19:48 GMT <jpotts> Once you see the new structure you'll realize that the re-org is actually not too bad.
2017-06-21 14:20:00 GMT <fwu> ok, I understand
2017-06-21 14:20:12 GMT <fwu> i will use the 3.0.0 beta 5
2017-06-21 14:20:17 GMT <jpotts> No, you can just edit your existing project. That's what I've done with all of the projects I've moved to 3.0.0.
2017-06-21 14:20:28 GMT <fwu> i thought this version would be a final version.
2017-06-21 14:21:05 GMT <jpotts> 3.0.0 shipped, I'm not sure why you'd use the beta
2017-06-21 14:21:35 GMT <fwu> ok, then I will create a new from scratch and then I will look at the differences so that I can change the rest.
2017-06-21 14:21:46 GMT <jpotts> Sounds great, good luck!
2017-06-21 14:21:52 GMT <fwu> jpotts, that is something I dont understand either :(
2017-06-21 14:22:02 GMT <fwu> im using the maven plugin in eclipse
2017-06-21 14:22:18 GMT <fwu> i have a list of many archtypes... but the new ones all have beta suffixes
2017-06-21 14:22:28 GMT <fwu> 3.0.0. beta n
2017-06-21 14:22:53 GMT <AFaust> fwu: The Maven plugin in Eclipse is using a local search index. You may have to force it to regenerate that...
2017-06-21 14:23:04 GMT <fwu> if I create the project using a console I have the "normal" list because this list doesnt show if it is beta or not
2017-06-21 14:23:36 GMT <fwu> AFaust, but I installed a new eclipse version. May this happens with new instalaltions?
2017-06-21 14:23:45 GMT <AFaust> I can only recommend to always prefer Maven via the console so you won't be misled by some crazy Eclipse "optimisation" / hiccup...
2017-06-21 14:25:34 GMT <jpotts> AFaust: +1
2017-06-21 14:25:53 GMT <AxelFaust> I can't say much about new version of Eclipse + Maven. The only Maven features I use in Eclipse are "Import project", Dependency Management and "Download Sources/JavaDoc"
2017-06-21 14:26:10 GMT <AxelFaust> Everything else is done on CLI
2017-06-21 14:26:30 GMT <AxelFaust> Same with Git, BTW...
2017-06-21 14:35:10 GMT <fwu> thank you AFaust and jpotts. Nevertheless, this is how I see it using eclipse: https://justpaste.it/184bs
2017-06-21 14:38:38 GMT <fwu> jpotts, AxelFaust, can you tell me if Im using the right catalog, please: https://artifacts.alfresco.com/nexus/content/groups/public/archetype-catalog.xml
2017-06-21 14:46:53 GMT <AxelFaust> fwu: You should use the catalog from Maven Central
2017-06-21 15:14:41 GMT <yreg> ~later tell resplin was this tool : https://subgit.com/ part of your investigation before migration to git ?
2017-06-21 15:14:41 GMT <alfbot> yreg: The operation succeeded.
2017-06-21 15:27:37 GMT * AxelFaust wonders how an ECM vendor could have messed up the attachment management in their BPM side-product that bad...
2017-06-21 15:31:09 GMT <douglascrp> I have a quick question
2017-06-21 15:31:16 GMT <yreg> douglascrp, shoot
2017-06-21 15:31:57 GMT <douglascrp> it is weird, as css are correcly added, not the js, not
2017-06-21 15:32:18 GMT <douglascrp> sorry... a custom div is added
2017-06-21 15:32:22 GMT <douglascrp> but the js, not
2017-06-21 15:32:48 GMT <douglascrp> this is my code

2017-06-21 15:33:29 GMT <douglascrp> yreg, hey dude
2017-06-21 15:33:39 GMT <douglascrp> quick question on alflytics for you
2017-06-21 15:33:56 GMT <douglascrp> are you going to include those workflows ideas we discussed in the past?
2017-06-21 15:35:40 GMT <douglascrp> ah, weird, now even the div is included anymore
2017-06-21 15:35:51 GMT <douglascrp> I must have messed with the extension module config
2017-06-21 15:35:59 GMT <douglascrp> lunch time
2017-06-21 15:36:03 GMT <douglascrp> will be back soon
2017-06-21 15:49:56 GMT <fwu> AxelFaust, thank you for the maven central catalog tip. Now I can see the 3.0.0 version without any beta.
2017-06-21 17:22:02 GMT <fwu> ppl, with the new sdk 3.0 if I compile to a jar file and my projet has dependencies on external jar files, do I need to manual copy those external jar files to Alfresco lib folder?
2017-06-21 17:22:14 GMT <douglascrp> fwu, yes
2017-06-21 17:22:27 GMT *** mmccarthy1 is now known as mmccarthy
2017-06-21 17:22:48 GMT <fwu> with amps the external jars were integrated right?
2017-06-21 17:23:01 GMT <douglascrp> fwu, it depends on how the dependency is configured
2017-06-21 17:23:15 GMT <douglascrp> like, for provided and compile, they are not included
2017-06-21 17:24:20 GMT <fwu> ok, but it was possible. now I need to deploy them manually... but well I already need to copy the custom jars
2017-06-21 17:24:27 GMT <fwu> thank you douglascrp!
2017-06-21 17:27:37 GMT <fwu> another problem
2017-06-21 17:27:49 GMT <fwu> once, in the old sdk I have this:
2017-06-21 17:28:46 GMT <fwu> src\main\amp\config\alfresco and src\main\amp\config\org
2017-06-21 17:28:57 GMT <fwu> in the second one I have some files and folders.
2017-06-21 17:29:11 GMT <fwu> in sdk 3.0 I dont know where to place the org directory
2017-06-21 17:29:25 GMT <fwu> right inside the config folder
2017-06-21 17:30:42 GMT <fwu> the alfresco folder I put inside the resources folder as its contents seems similar to my
2017-06-21 17:31:06 GMT <fwu> and then I put the org directory also inside the resources folder, but then files are nout found when deployed
2017-06-21 17:31:54 GMT <fwu> the org diretori has some properties files
2017-06-21 17:38:57 GMT <fwu> so, the same question in other words: in the new file structure, where I should place the files that were inside the config folder?
2017-06-21 17:42:35 GMT <douglascrp> I am trying to insert a new div before a markup
2017-06-21 17:42:41 GMT <douglascrp> <@markup id="documentListContainer">
2017-06-21 17:42:55 GMT <douglascrp> but this markup is defined inside a ftl that is included in the webscript one
2017-06-21 17:44:34 GMT <douglascrp> is the extension module mechanism able to do so in a markup not defined inside the webscript directly?
2017-06-21 17:44:48 GMT <douglascrp> AFaust ^
2017-06-21 17:57:29 GMT <fwu> I think I got it: the assembly folder is like the old amp folder
2017-06-21 17:57:54 GMT <douglascrp> fwu, yes, it is
2017-06-21 17:59:45 GMT <AxelFaust> douglascrp: Yes, the extension module mechanism is able to handle that. It does not matter which FTL contains the markup as long as it is rendered as part of the web script you are trying to customise
2017-06-21 18:08:18 GMT <douglascrp> right
2017-06-21 18:08:28 GMT <douglascrp> this is weird, as my extension is not being loaded at all
2017-06-21 18:08:48 GMT <douglascrp> this is what I have right now
2017-06-21 18:08:50 GMT <douglascrp> <modules>

2017-06-21 18:22:55 GMT <douglascrp> AxelFaust, but does that mean that having them is wrong?
2017-06-21 18:22:56 GMT <AxelFaust> This is due to the deferred nature of the kind of model elements they create in the template output model
2017-06-21 18:23:03 GMT <AxelFaust> No - it is not wrong.
2017-06-21 18:23:06 GMT <douglascrp> ok
2017-06-21 18:23:13 GMT <AxelFaust> Just to be aware of and not get confused

2017-06-21 18:25:12 GMT <douglascrp> seems ok, right?
2017-06-21 18:25:55 GMT <douglascrp> now about the extension.xml file, the one declaring the modules
2017-06-21 18:26:12 GMT <AxelFaust> You are missing a level of XML in your extension module
2017-06-21 18:26:12 GMT <douglascrp> does it have to be inside web-extension/site-data/extensions?
2017-06-21 18:26:31 GMT <douglascrp> or directly inside alfresco/site-data/extensions
2017-06-21 18:26:34 GMT <AxelFaust> You only have the <customizations> element but you need to have a <customization> inside of it

2017-06-21 18:28:00 GMT <douglascrp> how come :D
2017-06-21 18:28:07 GMT <douglascrp> i tried lots of different things
2017-06-21 18:28:31 GMT <douglascrp> even changing the paths, as I thought it could be a conflict with other projects I have published in the same server
2017-06-21 18:28:43 GMT <douglascrp> well, that is good, because now I have better packaged projects :D
2017-06-21 18:29:07 GMT <douglascrp> testing again
2017-06-21 18:51:53 GMT <douglascrp> AxelFaust, it worked
2017-06-21 18:52:06 GMT <douglascrp> but without the action="after", it didn't work
2017-06-21 18:52:13 GMT <douglascrp> without it, I got the following message in the log
