Daily Log for #alfresco

2017-08-22 06:12:23 GMT <MorganP> tell douglascrp I can confirm you that the new AOS is working wherever your files are stored. When you connect to /alfresco/aos, you will see the entire repository including the Data Dictionary if you have the permissions to, the Shared folder, the sites and whatever folders you created. So if you want to see only one site from your M$ Office, you will have to connect to /alfresco/aos/sites/SiteName, for example.

2017-08-22 07:11:23 GMT <DarkStar1> Bonjour a tous

2017-08-22 07:15:03 GMT <DarkStar1> Is the last version of Alfresco share 5.2.e?

2017-08-22 07:19:57 GMT <angelborroy> DarkStar1 https://artifacts.alfresco.com/nexus/#nexus-search;gav~org.alfresco~~5.2.f~~

2017-08-22 07:49:31 GMT <angelborroy> yreg this is the one included with 201707

2017-08-22 07:51:13 GMT <yreg> ok

2017-08-22 07:51:46 GMT <yreg> DarkStar1, don't use alfresco-platform-5.2.f

2017-08-22 07:51:59 GMT <yreg> use 5.2.g instead

2017-08-22 07:52:39 GMT <yreg> that is if you are going to add share services yourself

2017-08-22 07:53:12 GMT <fcorti> https://community.alfresco.com/docs/DOC-7034-alfresco-community-edition-201704-ga-release#jive_content_id_Contents

2017-08-22 07:53:17 GMT <fcorti> It could help

2017-08-22 07:53:29 GMT <yreg> otherwise alfresco-5.2.f has alfresco-platform-5.2.g + alfresco-share-services-5.2.f ;--)

2017-08-22 07:53:41 GMT <yreg> fcorti no

2017-08-22 07:53:48 GMT <yreg> resplin forgot to update that link

2017-08-22 07:54:09 GMT <fcorti> yreg... how

2017-08-22 07:54:15 GMT <MorganP> The URL isn't important, alfresco only care care of the DOC number

2017-08-22 07:54:15 GMT <fcorti> I can doit forhim

2017-08-22 07:54:39 GMT <MorganP> So this is really the 201707

2017-08-22 07:54:39 GMT <fcorti> the link I shared os 201707... what is wrong?

2017-08-22 07:54:46 GMT <fcorti> yes,sure

2017-08-22 07:54:54 GMT <yreg> ah yes sorry

2017-08-22 07:55:01 GMT <fcorti> no prob

2017-08-22 07:55:05 GMT <MorganP> it is 201704 in the URL fcorti ;) but since the website only take care of the DOC-7034 number, it's not an issue

2017-08-22 07:55:21 GMT <fcorti> ah... now I understand the concern

2017-08-22 07:55:22 GMT <fcorti> no no

2017-08-22 07:55:25 GMT <fcorti> it's jive issue

2017-08-22 07:55:34 GMT <MorganP> It is a little bit strange for people not knowing how this works ^^

2017-08-22 07:55:37 GMT <fcorti> if you "copy" a page the urlcannot be changed

2017-08-22 07:55:54 GMT <fcorti> but the DOCid is the unique ID, like MorganP says

2017-08-22 07:56:03 GMT <fcorti> the page is related to 201707

2017-08-22 07:56:16 GMT <fcorti> and in the content section there are all the artifacts

2017-08-22 07:57:37 GMT <DarkStar1> angelborroy: Thanks

2017-08-22 07:58:18 GMT <yreg> indeed

2017-08-22 07:58:23 GMT <DarkStar1> yreg: Thanks for advice also

2017-08-22 08:06:10 GMT <yreg> I hope alfresco re-aligns version numbering scheme between alfresco/alfresco-platform artifacts by the next minor/major version

2017-08-22 08:08:48 GMT <Tichodroma> +1 I wonder what the tags of https://github.com/ecm4u/alfresco-data-model mean and where the code of this for 5.2 is

2017-08-22 08:08:49 GMT <alfbot> Title: GitHub - ecm4u/alfresco-data-model (at github.com)

2017-08-22 08:34:16 GMT <DarkStar1> I have a bit of an oddity. I have created a translation module to translate an alfresco but one label (the 'Model Manager') in the admin tools section refuses to be translated. When I deploy the module to the remote, but locally on my dev machine it's translated.

2017-08-22 08:34:49 GMT <AFaust> yreg: They don't need to realign the versions - they just need to drop this insane idea of "alfresco" vs. "alfresco-platform" - "alfresco" should be what "alfresco-platform" is now, and what "alfresco" is now should not be necessary at all...

2017-08-22 08:35:29 GMT <AFaust> Tichodroma: What about https://github.com/Alfresco/alfresco-data-model/tree/6.17 ?

2017-08-22 08:35:30 GMT <alfbot> Title: GitHub - Alfresco/alfresco-data-model at 6.17 (at github.com)

2017-08-22 08:36:15 GMT <DarkStar1> the particular propeties file that pertains to this label is under the cmm.properties file and I put it under: <Project root>/src/main/resources/alfresco/messages/cmm_da.properties

2017-08-22 08:36:46 GMT <DarkStar1> in an SDK 3.0.1 directory structure

2017-08-22 08:38:18 GMT <Tichodroma> AFaust: sure, but how is the version 6.17 related to Alfresco 5.x?

2017-08-22 08:39:21 GMT <AFaust> I just picked the last released version assuming it to be shipped with the latest 5.2 GA... I know that 6.1X was shipped in previous of the 5.2 GA releases

2017-08-22 08:40:32 GMT <AFaust> 5.2.f had alfresco-data-model-6.8.jar

2017-08-22 08:40:49 GMT <AFaust> I haven't checked 5.2.g

2017-08-22 08:41:31 GMT <AFaust> But as far as I am aware, that project is now supposed to be the public source repository for this part of Alfresco

2017-08-22 11:08:49 GMT <chandu> Hi all

2017-08-22 11:09:40 GMT <chandu> Is there any documentation to get .ftl file response as pdf?

2017-08-22 11:29:00 GMT <AFaust> chandu: No, because FTL is designed to generate text-only responses, and PDF is binary

2017-08-22 11:29:26 GMT <AFaust> So if you want to generate responses as PDF, you'd need to implement a Java-backed web script

2017-08-22 11:33:28 GMT <chandu> AFaust: Thanks for your response and i have create a web script API, getting response in FTL. Need response in pdf or excel.

2017-08-22 11:50:47 GMT <yreg> chandu, once you have an ftl to generate proper html, you can use templateService to create an html file out of it then transformService to convert HTML to PDF

2017-08-22 11:57:31 GMT <chandu> yreg: Thank you very much, i will try as you said.

2017-08-22 11:59:45 GMT <yreg> alternatively you can follow this blog to produce Excel although I do not like it that much http://www.krutikjayswal.com/2017/07/alfresco-webscript-export-data-in-excel.html

2017-08-22 12:09:07 GMT <bhuvana_> Hi all

2017-08-22 12:09:37 GMT <bhuvana_> good evening

2017-08-22 12:09:52 GMT <bhuvana_> i have small doubt in alfresco

2017-08-22 12:10:28 GMT <bhuvana_> is it possible to provide view option to all versioned documents like download

2017-08-22 12:10:43 GMT <bhuvana_> in share side

2017-08-22 12:11:13 GMT <yreg> not out of the box AFAIK

2017-08-22 12:12:13 GMT <yreg> the closest thing I assume is to browse version store using node browser from admin console but I don't see how that could be useful

2017-08-22 12:13:37 GMT <yreg> bhuvana_, many clients I know of are using special versioning logic relying on custom metadata to make all version available in workspace://SpacesStore

2017-08-22 12:13:58 GMT <yreg> this may or may not involve Behaviours

2017-08-22 12:14:08 GMT <yreg> depending on usecase

2017-08-22 12:14:53 GMT <bhuvana_> http://localhost:8080/alfresco/service/api/version?nodeRef=workspace://SpacesStore/3961ddc7-d035-45d3-8e06-57e2ab52d24c#

2017-08-22 12:15:20 GMT <bhuvana_> but using this api can i create custom action

2017-08-22 12:56:30 GMT <alfbot> douglascrp: Sent 5 hours and 47 minutes ago: <MorganP> I can confirm you that the new AOS is working wherever your files are stored. 2017-08-22 12:57:19 GMT <douglascrp> good morning everyone

2017-08-22 13:08:42 GMT <douglascrp> have you had the chance to test uploader plus on 5.2

2017-08-22 13:08:43 GMT <douglascrp> ?

2017-08-22 13:08:58 GMT <douglascrp> there are some open issues there, but I could not work on those yet

2017-08-22 13:09:28 GMT <yreg> not really, but had some issues with a recent 5.1 service pack

2017-08-22 13:09:36 GMT <yreg> but I got around them with https://github.com/softwareloop/uploader-plus/pull/124/commits/60600342e8b4b57f3d7177251db64507e93cdb43

2017-08-22 13:12:29 GMT <DarkStar1> morning douglascrp o/

2017-08-22 13:12:34 GMT <douglascrp> Paolo does not have the time to keep the addon

2017-08-22 13:13:41 GMT <yreg> douglascrp, that one covers a bit less & a bit more hehe

2017-08-22 13:15:29 GMT <yreg> douglascrp, I think only the last 2 PRs are worthy of some evaluation

2017-08-22 13:25:53 GMT <douglascrp> yreg, right

2017-08-22 13:26:10 GMT <douglascrp> ok, I will use some time in the afternoon to address some of those

2017-08-22 13:27:14 GMT <douglascrp> anyone here using redis?

2017-08-22 13:30:30 GMT <yreg> douglascrp, just wen through recent issues and put a couple of comments (trying to help as much as I can ;-) )

2017-08-22 13:30:47 GMT <yreg> do not forget to merge my PR today

2017-08-22 13:30:51 GMT <douglascrp> yreg, yes, I saw... very much appreciated

2017-08-22 13:31:02 GMT <douglascrp> I wont

2017-08-22 13:31:37 GMT <fwu> hi all

2017-08-22 13:31:55 GMT <yreg> if you like, I can go through all issues/PRs with you to filter out what should stay and what should be thrown away

2017-08-22 13:32:01 GMT <fwu> can someone tell me if i can use YAHOO.Bubbling.fire to simulate a change event in a specific dropdown?

2017-08-22 13:34:29 GMT <Loftux> fwu: Since there is a change event in a dropdown itself, that should be possible to use to further use YAHOO:Bubbling.fire

2017-08-22 13:35:52 GMT <fwu> Loftux, I need a programatically control of the event, although I wuill use the standard event.

2017-08-22 13:36:21 GMT <fwu> I need to simulate the change event although the user did not select a new item in the dropdwon

2017-08-22 13:36:45 GMT <fwu> I would like to use YAHOO.Bubbling.fire because any other javascript is not very compatible with all the browsers

2017-08-22 13:37:23 GMT <fwu> so, in my custom function, I would like to fire the cnage event of a specific dropdown

2017-08-22 13:37:30 GMT <fwu> change event

2017-08-22 13:37:44 GMT <Loftux> fwu: lostfocus or something can be used?

2017-08-22 13:38:14 GMT <fwu> I would like to use the chaneg event because other objects alredy register for that event...

2017-08-22 13:38:37 GMT <fwu> so, it would be handle in the same way, being it programatically or not

2017-08-22 13:39:02 GMT <fwu> I was expecting to be able to set the event type and the source element in some way using : YAHOO.Bubbling.fire

2017-08-22 13:39:27 GMT <fwu> but I dont fine any examples. The examples I found is about creating custom events handlers

2017-08-22 13:39:32 GMT <fwu> find

2017-08-22 13:40:09 GMT <fwu> but if my objects already register to the change event, I would like to fire it, instead of any other

2017-08-22 13:42:24 GMT <fwu> so I need a way to set in YAHOO.Bubbling.fire the event type and the element that throws it. The event type is the first argument, I suppose, but I dont know how to specify the source object.

2017-08-22 20:16:06 GMT <ioudas^working> Hi all. is it possible to set an X bit. on a ftp side of the alfresco 5.0 install base

2017-08-22 20:16:14 GMT <ioudas^working> I cant see where i would set execute for ftp

2017-08-22 20:19:24 GMT <MTielemans> Permission you mean?

2017-08-22 20:19:28 GMT <ioudas^working> yea

2017-08-22 20:19:28 GMT <MTielemans> For binding on port 21

2017-08-22 20:19:38 GMT <ioudas^working> yep

2017-08-22 20:20:15 GMT <MTielemans> It's a Linux thing that non-root users can bind to ports under I believe 1024. CIFS has issues with this as well. I don't know if that's something you can change, but you could change the FTP port to a higher one

2017-08-22 20:20:38 GMT <ioudas^working> I dont understand that.

2017-08-22 20:20:46 GMT <ioudas^working> thats not really what im getting

2017-08-22 20:20:47 GMT <ioudas^working> at

2017-08-22 20:21:01 GMT <ioudas^working> i need an execute bit on a folder. for an existing ftp user

2017-08-22 20:21:51 GMT <MTielemans> I don't really know about that

2017-08-22 20:22:34 GMT <ioudas^working> Ok thats super weird on why youd answer then.

2017-08-22 20:24:55 GMT <MTielemans> Well you could be glad that anyone's trying to help of course. I thought you had a different question. I answered that.

2017-08-22 20:25:09 GMT <ioudas^working> Fair enough. I appreciate your help.

2017-08-22 21:00:08 GMT <resplin> MTielemans: Thanks for trying to help out. It's nice to see people trying to assist at this time of the day. Most of our experts are in Europe.

2017-08-22 21:00:22 GMT <resplin> ioudas^working: I don't understand your question either. What does an execute bit have to do with FTP?

2017-08-22 21:00:43 GMT <MTielemans> So am I =)

2017-08-22 21:02:17 GMT <resplin> MTielemans: What time zone are you in? Have you been hanging out here for a while?

2017-08-22 21:06:17 GMT <MTielemans> resplin I'm in CEST (Netherlands). I've been around here inconsistently using the webchat but now that I have a proper IRC client installed you should be seeing more of me ;)

2017-08-22 22:35:26 GMT <resplin> ioudas^working: Why would you want to execute a file within Alfresco?
