Daily Log for #alfresco

2017-12-06 05:20:44 GMT <grendal_pure> is there ANY way to integrate share with libre office? I mean if my users could browse to what they want in share and then "edit in libreoffice" from share this would be a hands down sale

2017-12-06 05:52:24 GMT <grendal_pure> its just crazy that there is no means of passing the webdav path from share so libre can just open the thing for editing direcly?

2017-12-06 06:30:05 GMT <grendal_pure> this just seems crazy to me

2017-12-06 06:31:32 GMT <grendal_pure> There should be some way of having share just send the webdav url and have the browser ask you ...hey you want to run this in libre office? yes or now?

2017-12-06 09:04:18 GMT <yreg> Morning

2017-12-06 09:08:15 GMT <mrks_js> morning Younes!

2017-12-06 09:09:54 GMT <rusin> how can i get alfresco server path through javascript console

2017-12-06 09:10:07 GMT <mrks_js> which path?

2017-12-06 09:10:32 GMT <rusin> like http://ipaddress:8080/------

2017-12-06 09:11:03 GMT <mrks_js> what do you mean by ------?

2017-12-06 09:11:40 GMT <rusin> either share or alfresco

2017-12-06 09:12:04 GMT <mrks_js> have you tried: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1368264/how-to-extract-the-hostname-portion-of-a-url-in-javascript

2017-12-06 09:12:05 GMT <alfbot> Title: How to extract the hostname portion of a URL in JavaScript - Stack Overflow (at stackoverflow.com)

2017-12-06 09:17:43 GMT <AFaust> rusin, mrks_js: In JavaScript Console you can technically only use the sysAdminParams to construct Alfresco server path / URL. Any information about the Share URL is lost, since the JavaScript is executed on the Repository-tier outside of Share context.

2017-12-06 09:18:54 GMT <AFaust> Well, you could also use the server side URL model, which would include the details from the URL that Share has used to forward the request to the Repository-tier, but this may be a URL that cannot be resolved by any client, i.e. a lot of times Share simply routes to "localhost"

2017-12-06 10:13:31 GMT <yreg> Hey Markus! how it goes ?

2017-12-06 10:19:21 GMT <mrks_js> good good! haven't had much to do with alfresco lately but i am looking forward to devcon! u?

2017-12-06 16:22:20 GMT <yreg> ~later tell resplin, I just came across this : https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/WID-1397 does this mean that ACE holders will need to re-pass the exam in 2 years, or is it just a rebranding of the same certificate

2017-12-06 16:22:20 GMT <alfbot> yreg: The operation succeeded.

2017-12-06 17:12:42 GMT <AFaust> yreg: Really sounds like a rebranding / renaming with regards to the certification process...
