Daily Log for #alfresco

2018-07-05 05:52:05 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> @douglascrp yes you need to create a new content store or replacing the old one with the dummy and create some dummy files as templates

2018-07-05 10:23:36 GMT <alfresco-discord> <douglascrp> @MorganP right

2018-07-05 11:21:23 GMT <AFaust> douglascrp: Regarding the dummy store from yesterday. Yes, it would not work "exactly" like you were thinking, but if you had a DB copy and extracted the few content files you actually needed, you could use that store to "fake" the rest of the content in your clone system

2018-07-05 11:22:09 GMT <AFaust> I use that store (well, actually a precursor to it) for one customer where they have cloned their production DB for performance tests in the UAT environment

2018-07-05 12:48:03 GMT <alfresco-discord> <douglascrp> AFaust, I will have to test it if the customer accepts the project

2018-07-05 15:45:28 GMT <AFaust> Just a reminder for anyone: The Office Hours is currently ongoing if anyone would like to join...

2018-07-05 15:47:40 GMT <alfresco-discord> <douglascrp> Missed it

2018-07-05 15:48:11 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> hm same here

2018-07-05 15:52:35 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> Heyit should be still running @douglascrp and @MorganP

2018-07-05 15:56:48 GMT <alfresco-discord> <douglascrp> I am not in front of my laptop now

2018-07-05 15:56:58 GMT <alfresco-discord> <douglascrp> Using the mobile app

2018-07-05 16:07:39 GMT <AFaust> So apparently the 6.0 GA happened last week

2018-07-05 16:16:50 GMT <alfresco-discord> <douglascrp> Uee

2018-07-05 16:16:54 GMT <alfresco-discord> <douglascrp> Yes

2018-07-05 16:19:29 GMT <kumar> hi I want customize ADF application(at UI level ) can you share me any link ?( I already integrate with APS)

2018-07-05 16:25:05 GMT <matthewm> HI I was wondering the best place to get some help for an old version of alfresco that is crashing when a certain file is accessed. its version 4.0.d

2018-07-05 16:32:45 GMT <AFaust> matthewm You can certainly ask your question in here (provide details as needed, i.e. log files via fpaste.org or similar services)

2018-07-05 16:32:56 GMT <AFaust> Or you can always create a question on community.alfresco.com

2018-07-05 16:33:48 GMT <AFaust> If you ask your question here, stick around for a few hours (leave IRC running in the background) to wait for responses (or check the logs at chat.alfresco.com), since most people will only check the channel from time to time between their regular work activities

2018-07-05 16:34:41 GMT <matthewm> OK thanks for the reply, i did have a quick look at the community page, but there didn't seem to be a section for alfresco being down.

2018-07-05 16:35:20 GMT <AFaust> If the problem is so obscure that you don't get any responses (or even suggestions / guesses for potential solutions), you can still look / ask for community service providers (people working professionally as Alfresco developers) to maybe come and support you (for their regluar fee)

2018-07-05 16:36:35 GMT <AFaust> There is indeed not a section for "system down" questions, because for most customers / users, these are urgent support issues that they discuss with their service providers. But you can still open such a question (or any question) in https://community.alfresco.com/community/ecm

2018-07-05 16:37:21 GMT <matthewm> thank you, i will give it a go, it seems like a user uploaded a password protected pdf. and since they I can restart alfresco and connect to any other site about from the one the file was uploaded to. it loads the site then just crashes. if i directly link to any other files it works but one i link to the last file the passworded one it crashes.

2018-07-05 16:37:47 GMT <matthewm> cool I will take a look. just going to see if I can grab some logs to give to people

2018-07-05 16:38:18 GMT <matthewm> unfortunately its a system I have inherited and just not touched as it has been working.

2018-07-05 17:51:07 GMT <matthewm> I managed to fix, i navigated to the dir above the uploaded file and deleted the folder.
