Daily Log for #alfresco

2018-08-09 06:56:55 GMT <alfresco-discord> <chandrashekar319> Hello Everyone, how to add 2 (activiti & http) root objects to javascript for alfresco. I have a single addon(http_js.amp) and applied it but not reflecting. Can you please suggest me on this with any example.

2018-08-09 07:18:47 GMT <DarkStar1> Moring everyone

2018-08-09 07:19:00 GMT <DarkStar1> Morning*

2018-08-09 09:06:28 GMT <alfresco-discord> <sairam> Hi, How can i override Alfresco default web-preview to Accusoft PrizmDoc Viewer, Please Can you suggest me.

2018-08-09 09:13:04 GMT <alfresco-discord> <sairam> I have to integrate the prizm doc viewer with alfresco. This will call for the replacement of alfresco viewer with prizmdoc viewer

2018-08-09 09:32:21 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> Morning everyone

2018-08-09 09:36:17 GMT <fwu2018> hi all

2018-08-09 09:39:22 GMT <fwu2018> ppl, im looking for the activiti-engine- source code. Any ideas where I can get? Here I can get almost any version except the one Im looking for. I need to apply a patch.

2018-08-09 09:39:33 GMT <fwu2018> https://github.com/Activiti/Activiti/releases

2018-08-09 09:39:34 GMT <alfbot> Title:Releases Β· Activiti/Activiti Β· GitHub (at github.com)

2018-08-09 09:39:54 GMT <fwu2018> strange why the activiti-engine- is not there...

2018-08-09 09:40:05 GMT <fwu2018> it jumps from activiti-engine- to 5.20

2018-08-09 09:41:29 GMT <fwu2018> it is not in the Alfresco svn, also.

2018-08-09 09:43:51 GMT <yreg> fwu2018, it's on maven central : http://central.maven.org/maven2/org/activiti/activiti-engine/

2018-08-09 09:44:11 GMT <yreg> I http://central.maven.org/maven2/org/activiti/activiti-engine/

2018-08-09 09:44:22 GMT <fwu2018> just to give you this note, I found a site that compares the differente versions of activiti. It mau be usefull: https://abi-laboratory.pro/index.php?view=compat_report&lang=java&l=activiti-engine&v1=

2018-08-09 09:44:24 GMT <alfbot> Title:Source compatibility report for Activiti Engine: vs 5.20.0 (at abi-laboratory.pro)

2018-08-09 09:44:56 GMT <fwu2018> yreg, I need to source project. the complete stuff :(

2018-08-09 09:47:05 GMT <fwu2018> although I can try to take the activiti-engine- and replace the code... but I may add errors that I would like to avoid

2018-08-09 09:49:25 GMT <yreg> fwu2018, again DON'T DO THAT

2018-08-09 09:49:28 GMT <fwu2018> hmmm from the preious link I can see that 5.19.03 only added 3 new methods and didnt remove nothing

2018-08-09 09:50:37 GMT <fwu2018> yreg, when you already have chnaged ADF, Javascript API and alfresco-remote-api, this is only a new jar to change

2018-08-09 09:51:05 GMT <fwu2018> also, this patch was done in the 5.20 version, so on a new release I may forget my chnage

2018-08-09 09:51:07 GMT <yreg> I wouldn't be thriving to add more technical debt to an existing project

2018-08-09 09:51:27 GMT <yreg> You are making the next upgrade near impossible to happen

2018-08-09 09:52:00 GMT <fwu2018> actually no. on the next upgrade I will forget my change becauase I know it is solved

2018-08-09 09:52:38 GMT <fwu2018> so my version will go to the trash

2018-08-09 09:52:56 GMT <fwu2018> right now I need this working... :)

2018-08-09 09:53:39 GMT <fwu2018> ok, I will try to reconstrcut the project. I dont understand why I dont find it...

2018-08-09 09:54:12 GMT <fwu2018> yreg, but I do understand what you are saying

2018-08-09 09:54:36 GMT <fwu2018> but when you start working with ADF those kind of problems are the smallest ones

2018-08-09 09:54:59 GMT <fwu2018> my big problem right now it is to make it work

2018-08-09 10:16:31 GMT <alfresco-discord> <joyson> Hi

2018-08-09 10:16:36 GMT <alfresco-discord> <joyson> has anyone tried to integrate keycloak with alfresco community 5.2.g ?

2018-08-09 10:17:33 GMT <alfresco-discord> <joyson> I got this community post https://community.alfresco.com/people/gravitonian/blog/2018/07/17/getting-started-with-alfresco-identity-service-ea-keycloak

2018-08-09 10:17:34 GMT <alfbot> Title:Getting Started with Alfresco Identity Service ... | Alfresco Community (at community.alfresco.com)

2018-08-09 10:17:57 GMT <alfresco-discord> <joyson> but this is for ACS and APS front end apps

2018-08-09 10:23:04 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Francesco Corti> I don't think ACS 5.2.g supports Keycloak... it started from ACS 6.0 and not sure if it started since the very first 6.0 Early Access .

2018-08-09 10:24:44 GMT <alfresco-discord> <joyson> thanks @Francesco Corti πŸ˜ƒ

2018-08-09 10:25:22 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Francesco Corti> more than welcome @joyson

2018-08-09 10:25:29 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Francesco Corti> πŸ˜ƒ

2018-08-09 11:15:30 GMT <AxelFaust> That is a nice quote for a future ADF presentation slidedeck: "when you start working with ADF those kind of problems are the smallest ones"

2018-08-09 11:21:40 GMT <yreg> Honestly Axel, I've been doing some ADF work since lately (last couple of months or so), and most of the issues I see are minor or unfounded .... It's just that people with a different background might have a set of expectations that do not necessarily cope with the scope of the framework

2018-08-09 11:22:32 GMT <yreg> And I personally noticed that the team is quite helpful and interactive when you ping them on gitter/github/community ...

2018-08-09 11:25:57 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> @joyson It doesn't exist on 5.2, but my experience with Authentication subsystems in general suggests that it it should be farily easy and straight forward to port it back to 5.2 in an amp

2018-08-09 11:31:43 GMT <alfresco-discord> <chandrashekar319> Hello All, i am using alfresco community 5.2.f. when i upload the image file thumbnails is not working, is there any configuration to get thumbnails?

2018-08-09 11:41:00 GMT <fwu2018> yreg, I have also only good things to say about "the team is quite helpful and interactive"

2018-08-09 11:41:45 GMT <fwu2018> but not agree with the remmaining. ADF as alot of angular stuff but less of document and process management stuff

2018-08-09 11:42:17 GMT <fwu2018> has

2018-08-09 11:43:24 GMT <fwu2018> but have been becoming better, of course

2018-08-09 11:46:08 GMT <alfresco-discord> <chandrashekar319> @yreg, can you please suggest me above doubt.

2018-08-09 11:48:17 GMT <alfresco-discord> <mbui> Is there a way for a user to change the display language of Alfresco despite the users current browser locale? I noticed Alfresco cloud has a similar solution to this: https://docs.alfresco.com/cloud/tasks/profile-language-cloud.html

2018-08-09 11:48:18 GMT <alfbot> Title:Changing your display language | Alfresco Documentation (at docs.alfresco.com)

2018-08-09 11:51:53 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> mbui if you are using share you can override the default locale resolver and do whatever pleases you with it

2018-08-09 11:52:48 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> most of the time I either force one single language there, or fetch rely on user preferences to set/load language for a user

2018-08-09 11:53:45 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> it is possible as well to extend the login screen with a dropdown with selected language and store that somewhere within the session in share, to be fetched by the locale resolver later

2018-08-09 11:54:20 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> but that might involve quite some coding

2018-08-09 11:54:51 GMT <alfresco-discord> <mbui> Yeah, that's what I got as well.. Just wondering if there's anything out-of-the-box you could grab that does this without having to spend too much time.

2018-08-09 11:54:56 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> @chandrashekar319 a lot of stuf could get wrong preventing you from observing thumbnails after upload

2018-08-09 11:55:04 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> a transfermer could be broken

2018-08-09 11:55:27 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> or a filetype could be blacklisted, or even could have limitations on size

2018-08-09 11:55:53 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> (ie: system is configured not to transform any file bigger than x Kb ..)

2018-08-09 12:01:46 GMT <alfresco-discord> <mbui> Hmm, this addon looks relevant: https://github.com/linzhixing/AlfrescoMyShareLocale Not updated for 6 years though πŸ€”

2018-08-09 12:01:47 GMT <alfbot> Title:GitHub - linzhixing/AlfrescoMyShareLocale (at github.com)

2018-08-09 12:12:04 GMT <yreg> @mbui, share hasn't changed that much since then, at least with regards to what you need

2018-08-09 12:12:17 GMT <yreg> So I would say that is indeed a very good starting point

2018-08-09 12:17:46 GMT <alfresco-discord> <chandrashekar319> In APS, can we view the attached file in child process which comes from parent process?

2018-08-09 12:19:19 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> Which type of digital signature is used in alfresco classA or classB

2018-08-09 12:19:31 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> ?

2018-08-09 12:20:25 GMT <AxelFaust> By default there are no digital signatures in Alfresco, so I'd say "none"

2018-08-09 12:23:06 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> Ya right,But i am asking about the supported addon of digital signature.and what type of digital signature it will be used classa or classB

2018-08-09 12:24:42 GMT <AxelFaust> Which addon in particular? There are multiple...

2018-08-09 12:24:57 GMT <AxelFaust> Non are "supported" by Alfresco - they are all 3rd-party ones

2018-08-09 12:25:50 GMT <AxelFaust> A few years ago a group in the Order of the Bee compiled this list: https://github.com/OrderOfTheBee/addons/wiki/Electronic-Signature-addons

2018-08-09 12:26:40 GMT <AxelFaust> I bet there are a couple new addons out there, and some of the ones listed may have not been updated to be compatible with the latest Alfresco versions

2018-08-09 12:27:50 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> My question is not related to addon? Is alfresco supports both ClassA and classB digital signature. And thanks a lot

2018-08-09 12:28:08 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> Arun, yes it does πŸ˜‰

2018-08-09 12:28:53 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> Thank u @AxelFaust

2018-08-09 12:29:27 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> πŸ˜‰

2018-08-09 12:31:45 GMT <AxelFaust> Arun: You are confusing me => "But i am asking about the supported addon" != "My question is not related to addon". If the reply from dgradecak works for you, I am glad you found what you were looking for...

2018-08-09 12:32:20 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> haha ... but exactly that πŸ˜‰

2018-08-09 12:32:48 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> I was trying to help you btw

2018-08-09 12:34:27 GMT <AxelFaust> I know... personally I can't even find what "ClassA" and "classB" digital signatures are supposed to be - Google is giving me zilch and I have not heard/seen those terms used before

2018-08-09 12:35:02 GMT <yreg> He is probably talking about XaDES profiles

2018-08-09 12:35:46 GMT <yreg> But there is no B there, just A, C, T X and XL

2018-08-09 12:35:59 GMT <yreg> Well, there is a BES as well

2018-08-09 12:36:27 GMT <yreg> hehe

2018-08-09 12:36:35 GMT <AxelFaust> Hey angelborroy, I linked your list, so you were involved

2018-08-09 12:36:42 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> maybe he talks about PDF/A also πŸ˜‰ hard to tell indeed

2018-08-09 12:40:02 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> Actually i am new to alfresco if i ask anything wrong. I am sry and thnks everyone

2018-08-09 12:40:30 GMT <angelborroy> Certificates have classes, but signatures have no classes

2018-08-09 12:41:29 GMT <angelborroy> But they are class 2 and class 3

2018-08-09 12:41:37 GMT <angelborroy> So I’m also definitively lost

2018-08-09 12:42:58 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> yes i am talking about that certificate class

2018-08-09 12:43:05 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> @Arun there is nothing wrong with learning new stuff, just makes sure to provide enough context when you ask about something, so that other people can understand what you need and eventually help

2018-08-09 12:59:06 GMT <yreg> AxelFaust, Your branch is already 442 commits behind Alfresco master ?! When did you start working on that ?

2018-08-09 12:59:36 GMT <AxelFaust> I just created my branch from the release tag of 6.0.7-GA

2018-08-09 12:59:54 GMT <AxelFaust> I mean - from the tag for the version of alfresco-repository included in 6.0.7-GA

2018-08-09 13:00:42 GMT <AxelFaust> Since I need to run this patched version for the use case based on 6.0.7-GA I can't just use any development version for the 6.1 or 7.0 release

2018-08-09 13:01:07 GMT <yreg> Makes sense

2018-08-09 13:01:37 GMT <AxelFaust> I did all the changes on the branch just last Sunday

2018-08-09 13:06:58 GMT <AxelFaust> Also don't ask me where the 442 commits come from - when I look at GitHub history of the master branch, I can't see that many since 6.55

2018-08-09 13:07:42 GMT <AxelFaust> So must be that they merged in some Enterprise-only QA / release prep branches after the Community GA

2018-08-09 13:09:08 GMT <AxelFaust> But I also don't see (m)any merges...

2018-08-09 13:09:37 GMT <AxelFaust> 6 or so

2018-08-09 13:12:31 GMT <yreg> They probably only merge develop
