2018-08-17 04:09:39 GMT <alfresco-discord> <digcat> interesting idea, https://www.darpa.mil/program/crowd-sourced-formal-verification

2018-08-17 04:09:41 GMT <alfbot> Title:Crowd Sourced Formal Verification (CSFV) (at www.darpa.mil)

2018-08-17 06:25:51 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> hallo everyone,i am enable to assign the workflow process when i am strating process in ADF.can anyone please tell me the issue or what i am missing.

2018-08-17 06:27:20 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> But i can see my process in aps and not in adf application

2018-08-17 07:15:57 GMT <yreg> Good morning !

2018-08-17 08:26:18 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> hi @Francesco Corti i am unable to assign the workflow process when i am starting process in ADF. but my process is assign in aps and not in ADF application

2018-08-17 08:32:20 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Francesco Corti> What do you mean with "assign"? NOt clear to me, sorry.

2018-08-17 08:40:23 GMT <fwu2018> afaust, thank you for your help yesterday. My problem is that if I only specify the username it is not being converted for a cm:person so I can get it with script like this:

2018-08-17 08:40:47 GMT <fwu2018> var assignee = task.getVariable('bpm_assignee');

2018-08-17 08:40:59 GMT <fwu2018> execution.setVariable('userChosen', assignee.properties.userName);

2018-08-17 08:41:24 GMT <fwu2018> so, or this is not supported althought stated in the documentation, or I am doing something wrong

2018-08-17 08:41:53 GMT <AFaust> Why would it be converted to a cm:person if you store it in an arbitrary variable?

2018-08-17 08:42:18 GMT <fwu2018> the bpm:assignee is of type cm:person

2018-08-17 08:42:31 GMT <fwu2018> but Im setting a username.

2018-08-17 08:42:47 GMT <AFaust> I don't know what you read (or understood) from which part of the documentation... But there certainly is no magic coded in Alfresco that will convert a user name to a cm:person node when you store it in a variable

2018-08-17 08:42:56 GMT <fwu2018> In here: https://docs.alfresco.com/5.0/pra/1/concepts/act-processes-post-process.html

2018-08-17 08:42:58 GMT <alfbot> Title:Start a new process | Alfresco Documentation (at docs.alfresco.com)

2018-08-17 08:43:04 GMT <AFaust> Sure, bpm:assigne is of type cm:person, right

2018-08-17 08:43:15 GMT <fwu2018> they say this: "https://docs.alfresco.com/5.0/pra/1/concepts/act-processes-post-process.html"

2018-08-17 08:43:18 GMT <fwu2018> sorry:

2018-08-17 08:43:27 GMT <fwu2018> this: For cm:person and cm:authorityContainer content model types the value must be the fully qualified user name or group name.

2018-08-17 08:43:38 GMT <fwu2018> The user and group name will be transformed to a node reference by Alfresco.

2018-08-17 08:43:59 GMT <fwu2018> so I was expecting to get a node reference later, although setting a string on the variables value

2018-08-17 08:46:25 GMT <AFaust> Yeah - so that is a documentation for the ReST API, but you provided JavaScript code from within a process earlier. What is the connection?

2018-08-17 08:46:45 GMT <AFaust> So do you actually get an error that assignee.properties.userName is an invalid reference?

2018-08-17 08:48:52 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> When i am assigning to the user i cant see my flow in ADF application

2018-08-17 08:49:50 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Francesco Corti> When you generate the process instance, do you see it using the standard APS/Activiti app?

2018-08-17 08:49:52 GMT <AFaust> And are you even working with Alfresco 5.0?

2018-08-17 08:49:56 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Francesco Corti> Which is the user there?

2018-08-17 08:50:32 GMT <AFaust> fwu2018 Last I remember, you were working with the v1 Public ReST API, right?

2018-08-17 08:50:41 GMT <AFaust> So 5.0 documentation is not really appropriate for that

2018-08-17 08:51:16 GMT <fwu2018> 5.2

2018-08-17 08:51:55 GMT <fwu2018> yes, but the rest API seems to use internally standard Alfresco code. Nevertheless, it is true that Im using task object, which may not be initialized as expected

2018-08-17 08:52:09 GMT <fwu2018> I can always get it working, but with a code change

2018-08-17 08:52:15 GMT <fwu2018> I was trying to avoid that

2018-08-17 08:52:23 GMT <AFaust> Ok - and looking at the source code, Alfresco ONLY supports name to node resolution for the variables / properties name cm:owner (assignee of current task) and bpm:pooledActors (potential assignees)

2018-08-17 08:52:52 GMT <AFaust> There is no support for bpm:assignee

2018-08-17 08:53:44 GMT <fwu2018> ok, then in my code, I will need to get the username and then get the person node from it

2018-08-17 08:54:03 GMT <AFaust> That statement in the documentation has been phrased too generously - likely because some engineer forgot to put in the limitations when they passed on info to the documentation team...

2018-08-17 08:54:55 GMT <fwu2018> ok, afaust thank you! At least I know my way now :)

2018-08-17 08:55:25 GMT <fwu2018> in general the rest API is working well until now

2018-08-17 08:55:40 GMT <fwu2018> with minor corrections

2018-08-17 08:55:46 GMT <AFaust> Remember: Open Source => code is documentation / documentation is only the description of the "best understanding" a non-technical person has

2018-08-17 08:56:03 GMT <fwu2018> yes, thats right

2018-08-17 09:55:43 GMT <hi-ko> AFaust: I don't share your interpretation of Open Source => code is documentation but would agree to say: Even if documentation is lousy, OpenSource may help to understand how a software works. I would always prefer if there is no need to read code to understand how an app works.

2018-08-17 09:56:31 GMT <AFaust> Yes, it is not my ideal either, only the practical way to look at it

2018-08-17 10:26:38 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> @Francesco Corti how to disable the radio buttons in alfresco process service

2018-08-17 10:28:03 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> if i select one radio button option the remaining radio buttons should be disable.is it possible

2018-08-17 10:36:26 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> @Francesco Corti thanks for your response right now I am using standard APS

2018-08-17 10:49:13 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Francesco Corti> Do you mean you want to disable the radio button, immediately after the selection has been done and not when the submit button has been pressed? If I understand correctly, this will limit your users to keep the very first choice, because they won't be able to change the selection also if the submit button is not pressed. Is it what you want to develop?

2018-08-17 10:54:54 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> Thnks a lot corti

2018-08-17 10:56:22 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Arun> Just i am asking it. Right now i am not working on it.

2018-08-17 13:52:56 GMT <fwu2018> back

2018-08-17 13:56:45 GMT <fwu2018> afaust, this may be a strange question but here it goes: do you know if it is possible to add/extend the attributes/elements of a property in a custom type in Alfresco?

2018-08-17 13:57:30 GMT <AFaust> What do you mean by that? Do you want to add XML elements in the model definition to a property?

2018-08-17 13:58:46 GMT <fwu2018> yes. Is it possible? what would be the potential problems with that? Or maybe create my own property type?

2018-08-17 14:00:06 GMT <fwu2018> a little explanation why Im looking into that: because Im trying to eliminate the share config when using alfresco from REST. There are some info I need to set somewhere... I would like to avoid using additional config files.

2018-08-17 14:00:40 GMT <fwu2018> I know a model I will alwyas need to configure, so I could use it for this additional configuration

2018-08-17 14:01:09 GMT <AFaust> It is not possible at all (without changing the core of Alfresco). The XML is bound to a Java model at runtime, and any elements unknown to the (generated) code would cause it to throw an error

2018-08-17 14:01:37 GMT <fwu2018> ok. I was expecting thay could be ignored :)

2018-08-17 14:01:42 GMT <fwu2018> they

2018-08-17 14:02:02 GMT <fwu2018> then I must use other config file

2018-08-17 14:02:17 GMT <fwu2018> thank you!

2018-08-17 16:57:39 GMT <fwu2018> afaust, can you tell me if this make sense for you? if i have a task for my group, I can claim the task. But if I then unclaim it, the task disappears from my list of tasks. If I want it to return to the pool, am I doing wrong unclaiming it?

2018-08-17 16:58:04 GMT <fwu2018> or may this be a bug?

2018-08-17 18:41:17 GMT <fwu2018> back

2018-08-17 20:25:57 GMT <alfresco-discord> <robl^> If I have a rule associated with a folder that runs a javascript code whenever a node is created in the folder and 2 users create a node at the same time, will Alfresco run the scripts one at a time sequentially? Or will the script invocations run in parallel?

2018-08-17 20:32:00 GMT <alfresco-discord> <robl^> Or in another scenario, someone drops 10 documents into the folder.

2018-08-17 20:38:26 GMT <alfresco-discord> <robl^> One part of the script looks up an integer property associated with the folder and then increments it by 1. The concern is if 2 script invocations run concurrently they both read the current value, i.e. '4', and both add 1 to that and save it back, so both are writing 5. However, the expected value would be 6, as it is a counter for number of documents processed.
