Daily Log for #alfresco

2018-09-19 06:48:40 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> Good morning! There are now 102 discord channel members (not counting the bots)! Some user names are repeated, so not easy to know exact numbers, and we can hope more log in and are active.

2018-09-19 09:50:16 GMT <alfresco-discord> <uvukasinovic> Hi all

2018-09-19 09:51:08 GMT <alfresco-discord> <uvukasinovic> please, for hackathon, do you have special channel or I can put my questions here?

2018-09-19 09:58:48 GMT <Tichodroma> what hackathon?

2018-09-19 10:03:37 GMT <AFaust> Tichodroma: I guess the Virtual Hack-a-thon on October 5th

2018-09-19 10:04:32 GMT <AFaust> @uvukasinovic You can put your questions here - someone should always be able to answer general questions. Or you just use the community.alfresco.com platform

2018-09-19 10:06:06 GMT <bee-bot> <AFaust> I.e. https://community.alfresco.com/docs/DOC-7962-projects-and-teams-global-virtual-hack-a-thon-2018 or https://community.alfresco.com/community/collaborate/blog/2018/07/11/announcing-global-virtual-hack-a-thon-2018 are both good candidates for questions via the comments...

2018-09-19 10:06:37 GMT <AFaust> Argh... sorry. Accidentally used the wrong tool for that message

2018-09-19 10:17:44 GMT <alfresco-discord> <uvukasinovic> Thanks!

2018-09-19 10:39:59 GMT <alfresco-discord> <bhagyas> We can start a new channel, certainly

2018-09-19 10:40:43 GMT <alfresco-discord> <bhagyas> @uvukasinovic Just created a new channel on the Discord

2018-09-19 10:40:49 GMT <alfresco-discord> <bhagyas> Let's try using that

2018-09-19 11:29:21 GMT <yreg> Guys, any idea on how could I use a script task inside APS ?

2018-09-19 11:30:14 GMT <yreg> I tried appending -Dvalidator.editor.bpmn.disable.scripttask=false -Dvalidator.editor.bpmn.disable.scripttask.groovy=false to JAVA_OPTS of APS

2018-09-19 11:30:42 GMT <yreg> It makes the process validation possible, and I get to deploy my app

2018-09-19 11:30:56 GMT <yreg> But then I get runtime exception when I reach the service task

2018-09-19 11:44:11 GMT <alfresco-discord> <bhagyas> Is anyone working with IPFS? (ipfs.io)

2018-09-19 11:49:12 GMT <alfresco-discord> <uvukasinovic> @yreg, script task inside APS:

2018-09-19 11:50:36 GMT <alfresco-discord> <uvukasinovic> - create Script Activiti Form

2018-09-19 11:50:49 GMT <alfresco-discord> <uvukasinovic> - put, Script Format: groovy

2018-09-19 11:53:28 GMT <alfresco-discord> <uvukasinovic> there just uncomment groovy

2018-09-19 11:53:56 GMT <alfresco-discord> <uvukasinovic> it worked for me. If you have any trouble, ping me on private msg

2018-09-19 11:59:54 GMT <yreg> @uvukasinovic thank!

2018-09-19 12:00:18 GMT <yreg> It was the whitelisted-scripts thingy that I was looking for

2018-09-19 12:00:30 GMT <yreg> And I managed to find this thread : https://community.alfresco.com/thread/231813-weve-upgraded-some-of-our-developers-to-161-and-they-are-getting-the-following-errors-on-a-imported-process-that-uses-a-script-step-09-jun-2017-140605024-severe-http-nio-9999-exec-4-orgapachecatalinacorestandardwrappervalveinvoke-servletse

2018-09-19 13:48:01 GMT <fwu2018> hi all

2018-09-19 18:43:52 GMT <jelly> hi, is there a version of alfresco that runs on ubuntu 18.04 LTS (and not, say, 17.04 which is not LTS or 16.04 which only has 3 years of life left)?

2018-09-19 19:08:32 GMT <AFaust> @jelly: Yes.... any of the current version(s) run on 18.04 LTS. The fact that 18.04 may not be listed in the "supported platforms" section only means that Alfresco has not explicitly tested this (yet), but generally speaking it is very unlikely you will encounter issues with a newer operation system (at least when talking about *nix)

2018-09-19 19:37:01 GMT <CptLuxx> works fine jelly

2018-09-19 19:37:23 GMT <CptLuxx> hm you are also in ##windows-server i knew i know you

2018-09-19 19:41:41 GMT <jelly> if it's basically just a java app running on tomcat, with a db on the side, I'd honestly rather run it on Debian like all $work's local apps run already

2018-09-19 19:42:25 GMT <jelly> but if that's going to pose issues getting support, latest Ubuntu LTS is the next best thing

2018-09-19 19:43:22 GMT <CptLuxx> well next problem

2018-09-19 19:43:29 GMT <CptLuxx> debian 9 only includes debian 8

2018-09-19 19:43:33 GMT <CptLuxx> eh tomcat 8

2018-09-19 19:43:37 GMT <CptLuxx> tomcat 8 is eol

2018-09-19 19:46:23 GMT <jelly> right, which is probably why our tomcat installations usually come from upstream tarballs

2018-09-19 19:48:27 GMT <jelly> the distro will have to either switch over or keep backporting fixes, but they're kind of good at the latter

2018-09-19 19:48:55 GMT <CptLuxx> and alfresco already includes tomcat

2018-09-19 19:49:10 GMT <jelly> that solves one issue

2018-09-19 19:49:15 GMT <CptLuxx> and postgres

2018-09-19 19:49:36 GMT <jelly> that... actually creates problems, that we can solve

2018-09-19 19:50:05 GMT <jelly> why would they bundle their own PgSQL tho

2018-09-19 19:50:10 GMT <CptLuxx> dunno

2018-09-19 19:51:59 GMT <jelly> oh, tomcat8 in debian is actually 8.5. Not that I'll use it.

2018-09-19 19:52:12 GMT <CptLuxx> oh

2018-09-19 19:52:14 GMT <CptLuxx> thats new for me

2018-09-19 19:52:32 GMT <jelly> <judd> Package: tomcat8 on amd64 -- jessie: 8.0.14-1+deb8u11; jessie-security: 8.0.14-1+deb8u11; jessie-backports: 8.5.14-1~bpo8+1; stretch: 8.5.14-1+deb9u2; stretch-proposed-updates: 8.5.14-1+deb9u3; stretch-security: 8.5.14-1+deb9u3; stretch-backports: 8.5.33-1~bpo9+1; buster: 8.5.34-1; sid: 8.5.34-1

2018-09-19 19:53:08 GMT <CptLuxx> fuck sake

2018-09-19 19:53:15 GMT <CptLuxx> i dont want to upgrade my alfresco tomcat
