2019-05-12 03:06:28 GMT <gdeverlant_> Really sweet I'm now able to debug the OsgiContainerModuleComponent extends AbstractModuleComponent

2019-05-12 03:06:37 GMT <gdeverlant_> this is the main entry point to Alfresco AMP

2019-05-12 03:07:10 GMT <gdeverlant_> I don't understand why I can debug that class but not the DefaultFrameworkManager

2019-05-12 03:09:45 GMT <gdeverlant_> https://github.com/AlfrescoLabs/alfresco-gradle-plugins

2019-05-12 03:09:46 GMT <alfbot> Title:GitHub - AlfrescoLabs/alfresco-gradle-plugins: Adds tasks to Gradle projects which help in compiling, assembling, and packaging Alfresco AMP projects. (at github.com)

2019-05-12 03:09:54 GMT <gdeverlant_> this plugin seems to be dead 7 years ago

2019-05-12 03:10:05 GMT <gdeverlant_> is it recommended to use it or should I use this instead

2019-05-12 03:34:20 GMT <dfhfghfg> but lets take back the conversation later when im awake

2019-05-12 03:34:25 GMT <dfhfghfg> i go sleep for now https://github.com/xenit-eu/dynamic-extensions-for-alfresco/issues/244

2019-05-12 11:50:06 GMT <dfhfghfg> back

2019-05-12 11:50:12 GMT *** dfhfghfg is now known as gdeverlant

2019-05-12 11:50:17 GMT <gdeverlant> back again

2019-05-12 11:50:24 GMT <gdeverlant> AFaut: you there ?

2019-05-12 11:50:30 GMT <gdeverlant> AFaust: you there ?

2019-05-12 11:50:56 GMT <AFaust> Yes, for the moment

2019-05-12 11:51:09 GMT <gdeverlant> great! have you seen my evolution ?

2019-05-12 11:51:28 GMT <gdeverlant> with alfresco from never having used it and trying to understand the underlying principles

2019-05-12 11:51:36 GMT <gdeverlant> in 3 days that's how far I got

2019-05-12 11:52:52 GMT <gdeverlant> I'm now stuck with how to debug Kotlin classes compiled for the Dynamic Extension AMP

2019-05-12 11:53:36 GMT <gdeverlant> It is weird... is it possible to compile the plugin without Kotlin?

2019-05-12 11:55:45 GMT <AFaust> As I mentioned yesterday, I don't know myself how to deal with Kotlin as I have never used it. I recommended to the guys maintaining it that it might be sensible to remove Kotlin since it does not bring any value to the addon (everything that Kotlin was used for could have just as easily been dealt with in plain Java), but they had other issues of higher priority...

2019-05-12 11:59:22 GMT <gdeverlant> I've been searching Kotlin source code files and I could not fin any

2019-05-12 11:59:55 GMT <gdeverlant> where does it all merge hmmmm good question

2019-05-12 12:01:59 GMT <gdeverlant> I was able to debug OsgiContainerModuleComponent

2019-05-12 13:41:56 GMT *** gdeverlant_ is now known as gdeverlant

2019-05-12 14:50:40 GMT <gdeverlant> AFaust: I would say that it is easier to learn Alfresco than to learn Liferay

2019-05-12 14:51:09 GMT <gdeverlant> but their documentation is crap cause it lacks visuals

2019-05-12 14:51:22 GMT <gdeverlant> and it is so much text to learn

2019-05-12 14:51:37 GMT <gdeverlant> Magnolia has the best of all things IMHO

2019-05-12 15:00:46 GMT <gdeverlant> What do you think for this bug : https://github.com/xenit-eu/dynamic-extensions-for-alfresco/issues/201

2019-05-12 15:00:47 GMT <alfbot> Title:DE not compatible with Alfresco Records Management · Issue #201 · xenit-eu/dynamic-extensions-for-alfresco · GitHub (at github.com)

2019-05-12 15:46:14 GMT <AFaust> gdeverlant_: That bug does not surprise me. Records Management is an invasive addon (Alfresco did not adhere to their own recommendations for addon developers), and a lot of 3rd-party functionality gets broken by it

2019-05-12 15:47:22 GMT *** gdeverlant_ is now known as gdeverlant

2019-05-12 15:47:37 GMT <gdeverlant> maybe they didn't abstracted that AMP in a way that it doesn't brake a lot of things

2019-05-12 15:49:52 GMT <gdeverlant> I wished XML never existed it is an abomination of German squareness

2019-05-12 15:50:06 GMT <gdeverlant> now it is everywhere in spring and alfresco

2019-05-12 15:50:53 GMT <gdeverlant> XML is a perfect reflection of german bureaucracy and laws
