Daily Log for #alfresco

2019-05-22 06:59:08 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> How does Alfresco knows if a document is locked by the AOS?

2019-05-22 06:59:18 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> I don't see anything in the alf_node_properties

2019-05-22 06:59:30 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> contrary to the case where it's a checkOut

2019-05-22 07:03:15 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> If it's a normal checkOut, I can see in the alf_node_properties that new rows are there for the lockOwner, lockType, lockLifetime, aso...

2019-05-22 07:03:46 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> But if it's a Edit in M$ Office, it's not there... But on Alfresco, dumping the document shows these values cm:lockOwner, aso..

2019-05-22 07:03:53 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> but it's not on the DB

2019-05-22 07:08:25 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> That's a lot of "but"... ^^. If it's not on the DB then I guess it's only a runtime information kept somewhere in memory.

2019-05-22 07:12:22 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> @MorganP There are persistent locks and volatile locks in ACS

2019-05-22 07:12:37 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> only persistent are persisted in the DB

2019-05-22 07:18:30 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> Yes AOS triggers Ephemeral locks

2019-05-22 07:18:38 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> but I still assumed it was in the DB

2019-05-22 07:19:01 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> but it makes more sense to not do that

2019-05-22 08:57:57 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> @digcat your lobbying is finally paying off, the community packaging issue is finally being addressed !

2019-05-22 08:58:46 GMT <angelborroy> It looks like we (even) are working on something :D

2019-05-22 09:07:55 GMT <AFaust> MorganP: Yeah, ephemeral locks are only in the in-memory caches, and would be gone completely if the server is shutdown (clustering in Alfresco would keep locks alive as long as there is still one operational cluster node)

2019-05-22 09:10:44 GMT <AFaust> The LockStore interface / service is the one handling the ephemeral locks. The lock cache isn't event a typical Alfresco cache - it is just a Google ConcurrentMap in Community and some Hazelcast-backed map in Enterprise.

2019-05-22 09:10:51 GMT <AFaust> event => even
