Daily Log for #alfresco

2019-07-29 06:25:28 GMT <alfresco-discord> <kanat> Hello, guys!

2019-07-29 06:26:32 GMT <alfresco-discord> <kanat> How extend Alfresco.forms.Form._submitInvoked ?

2019-07-29 06:27:01 GMT <alfresco-discord> <kanat> YAHOO.extend(Alfresco.MGStageTemplatesForm, Alfresco.forms.Form ??

2019-07-29 06:58:42 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> morning all, is there a way to "retrieve" a document via REST by its name or even something like the relativePath param for the create API?

2019-07-29 07:20:52 GMT <AFaust> dgradecak: Yes. the /nodes/{nodeId} operation also supports relativePath

2019-07-29 07:21:51 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> AFaust, cannot believe I missed it

2019-07-29 07:21:56 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> thank you

2019-07-29 07:22:17 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> probably I was not expecting to see it there and was blind

2019-07-29 07:30:04 GMT <Tichodroma> A customer is likes us to fix a bug in an ancient 3.x CE Alfresco version. Do you know if and where the source code and build scripts for this version could be available?

2019-07-29 07:35:36 GMT <AFaust> SVN?

2019-07-29 07:36:17 GMT <Tichodroma> https://svn.alfresco.com/repos/alfresco-open-mirror/alfresco/COMMUNITYTAGS/ only contains 4.0a+

2019-07-29 07:36:19 GMT <alfbot> Title:alfresco-open-mirror - Revision 138279: /alfresco/COMMUNITYTAGS (at svn.alfresco.com)

2019-07-29 07:39:15 GMT <AFaust> Right, at that point in time, I was only working with the Enterprise SVN, so would not have known if Community tags were consistent / complete.

2019-07-29 07:39:52 GMT <Tichodroma> How old is 3.x? I've started working with Alfresco in 2013 and the current version then was 4.2.

2019-07-29 07:40:44 GMT <AFaust> I started 2010 and at that time, 3.2 was the current version.

2019-07-29 07:41:01 GMT <Tichodroma> So it is quite old.

2019-07-29 07:43:09 GMT <AFaust> Today, I started a project to migrate one of the customers of my old company off of Enterprise 3.4. To be fair, they were offered that project quite often at the old company, but never bothered to order... Now that my old company is no longer actively doing projects / support, and all of the other partners don't dare to touch such an old version, the customer's hand has been forced.

2019-07-29 07:46:39 GMT <Tichodroma> Sounds like greate fun :)

2019-07-29 07:49:43 GMT <Tichodroma> I fear that the effort required to collect the tools required to patch such an old version is not worth is. The bug to be patched can easily prevented by education the users about how to use Alfresco.

2019-07-29 08:38:57 GMT <alfresco-discord> <IanW> @jpotts - Did you install jce? I've had problems with that previously connecting to ldaps

2019-07-29 08:46:07 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> Starting with Java 1.8 around u150/160, the jce is enabled by default

2019-07-29 08:46:33 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> I don't remember the update exactly but it changes quite some times around the u100 to 150/160 where it was enabled by default

2019-07-29 08:48:53 GMT <alfresco-discord> <ntaddei> @angel.borroy @dgradecak Hi both, I wrote you some days ago, thanks for your response. However I have not clear how can I do this operation https://alfresco-content-app.netlify.com/#/extending/registration using ADW. In that link it asks to edit app.module.ts, but with ADW I only have the compiled code. Can I create my own component in ADW?

2019-07-29 08:48:54 GMT <alfbot> Title:Alfresco Content App (at alfresco-content-app.netlify.com)

2019-07-29 09:10:07 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> @ntaddei I cannot do anything but direct you to the gitter channel again. There you should get better help on ACA or even ADW

2019-07-29 09:11:40 GMT <alfresco-discord> <ntaddei> @dgradecak I also send the same question there, but @angel.borroy seems to know something more, so I request again, I hope I didn't bother you πŸ˜ƒ

2019-07-29 09:12:39 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> the extension mechanism is changing a lot as far as I understood. But sure feel free to ask πŸ˜‰

2019-07-29 09:52:54 GMT <alfresco-discord> <ntaddei> Here https://community.alfresco.com/thread/240894-alfresco-digital-workspace someone said that is possible to get the ADW source on demand. I'm trying to get this way.

2019-07-29 09:52:56 GMT <alfbot> Title:Alfresco Digital Workspace | Alfresco Community (at community.alfresco.com)

2019-07-29 09:56:09 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> are you an enterprise (paying) customer?

2019-07-29 09:56:57 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> not sure why you need ADW sources, but an easy way to get something is to download ADW trial

2019-07-29 09:57:33 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> and do not confuse ACA and ADW again πŸ˜‰ we talked about that

2019-07-29 10:18:07 GMT <dgradecak> angelborroy ahoy, regarding the 6.2 transformation services, do you know what alfresco-transform-misc is?

2019-07-29 10:21:01 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> and like jpots said, seems for a manual installation/usage we are on our own > "Note that the Transform Service is only available with containerized deployments, and not when Alfresco Content Services is installed using a distribution zip."

2019-07-29 10:30:59 GMT <alfresco-discord> <ntaddei> @dgradecak yes, we are enterprise customers. I need source to build extensions as indicated in the guide https://alfresco-content-app.netlify.com/#/extending/registration I am not confusing ACA with ADW again, but @angel.borroy said that the extension mode is basically the same

2019-07-29 10:31:00 GMT <alfbot> Title:Alfresco Content App (at alfresco-content-app.netlify.com)

2019-07-29 10:32:29 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> sure, it is still the same indeed. Although they announced it will be different. You should be fine doing what is said there to get the source

2019-07-29 12:52:06 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> Welcome back @kgastaldo

2019-07-29 12:52:43 GMT <alfresco-discord> <MorganP> It's been a long time, hopefully the small one is doing well

2019-07-29 13:14:19 GMT <alfresco-discord> <kgastaldo> Thank you! I’m officially back.

2019-07-29 13:14:44 GMT <alfresco-discord> <kgastaldo> Emily is good.

2019-07-29 13:14:45 GMT <alfresco-discord> <kgastaldo> https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/451644531323174914/605387737901563925/image0.jpg

2019-07-29 13:25:23 GMT <AFaust> γŠγ―γ‚ˆγ†γ”γ–γ„γΎγ™γ€γ‚―γƒͺソテンさん!

2019-07-29 13:27:23 GMT <AFaust> It's been a bit lonely here (from the Alfresco side) while you were gone, so really happy to see you back, even though I'd personally wish you could take German maternity leave amounts of time...

2019-07-29 13:35:59 GMT <AFaust> Argh... I should have stuck to my first impulse instead of trying to think too much about name transformation rules. It's γ‚―γƒͺステン, not γ‚―γƒͺソテン for kgastaldo...

2019-07-29 13:42:35 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> @Afaust, did you do anything with the "new" transform services yet?

2019-07-29 13:43:30 GMT <AFaust> Nope... and I doubt I will have time before mid of September due to this new EE 3.4 -> 6.x migration project

2019-07-29 13:44:42 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> ok, I am trying to setup to run those services locally and the git projects reference a dependency "alfresco-transform-model" cannot find it anywhere

2019-07-29 13:44:50 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> do you have any idea what or where it could be?

2019-07-29 13:46:50 GMT <AFaust> Probably still internal and forgotten in the process to publish in the open?

2019-07-29 13:47:08 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> was my guess but I was hoping I am wrong

2019-07-29 13:48:13 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> and I wonder what is meant by this (did you see it?) "Note that the Transform Service is only available with containerized deployments, and not when Alfresco Content Services is installed using a distribution zip."

2019-07-29 13:49:11 GMT <angelborroy> https://github.com/Alfresco/alfresco-transform-core

2019-07-29 13:49:12 GMT <alfbot> Title:GitHub - Alfresco/alfresco-transform-core (at github.com)

2019-07-29 13:49:29 GMT <angelborroy> This is were every Transform Engine lives

2019-07-29 13:49:32 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> yes @angelborroy

2019-07-29 13:49:42 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> but the issue is a dependency used in it

2019-07-29 13:50:07 GMT <angelborroy> alfresco-transform-core?

2019-07-29 13:50:08 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> <groupId>org.alfresco</groupId> <artifactId>alfresco-transform-model</artifactId>

2019-07-29 13:50:35 GMT <angelborroy> Ah, this is still private

2019-07-29 13:50:45 GMT <angelborroy> Probably the missed to open the project

2019-07-29 13:51:42 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> could you give me some hint if and when it will be accesible?

2019-07-29 13:51:52 GMT <angelborroy> Not sure about it

2019-07-29 13:52:03 GMT <angelborroy> Probably the easiest way is to open a JIRA

2019-07-29 13:53:59 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> or just send me the zipped project anonymously πŸ˜„

2019-07-29 13:54:21 GMT <angelborroy> Not allowed to do that, you know

2019-07-29 13:55:32 GMT <AFaust> Definitely not now that you were publicly asked for it...

2019-07-29 13:55:46 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> kidding πŸ˜‰ strange ... even after reseting my pwd cannot login to jira

2019-07-29 13:57:18 GMT <angelborroy> You can always download https://hub.docker.com/r/alfresco/alfresco-transform-misc

2019-07-29 13:57:19 GMT <alfbot> Title:Docker Hub (at hub.docker.com)

2019-07-29 13:57:25 GMT <angelborroy> And check what’s inside

2019-07-29 13:58:16 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> Indeed

2019-07-29 14:30:22 GMT <alfresco-discord> <kgastaldo> Thanks Axel! It feels soon, but I am glad to be back.

2019-07-29 14:39:44 GMT * AFaust never realised the internal representation of the dictionary model is extremely leaky / mutable (using that right now to add a constraint to cm:email without overriding contentModel.xml)

2019-07-29 14:40:39 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> is there a "default" root password for alfresco docker images?

2019-07-29 14:40:45 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> alfresco/alfresco-base-java:11.0.1-openjdk-centos at least this one?

2019-07-29 14:41:01 GMT <angelborroy> Why do you need that?

2019-07-29 14:41:09 GMT <angelborroy> To have SSH?

2019-07-29 14:41:15 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> for instance

2019-07-29 14:41:16 GMT <angelborroy> docker exec -it 3874 sh

2019-07-29 14:41:21 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> or there is another way?

2019-07-29 14:41:26 GMT <angelborroy> That one

2019-07-29 14:43:27 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> hm well, I wanted to connect via sftp to get the "distribution" jar

2019-07-29 14:43:43 GMT <angelborroy> You can try mapping the volume

2019-07-29 14:43:53 GMT <angelborroy> mapping β€œa” volume

2019-07-29 14:44:00 GMT <angelborroy> To copy the file from inside to the volume

2019-07-29 14:44:34 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> can I do that without changing the docker file?

2019-07-29 14:45:02 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> hm I guess so actually

2019-07-29 15:11:05 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> I had no idea one could do this with docker: "docker cp 72ca2488b353:/foo.txt foo.txt"

2019-07-29 15:11:18 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> that copies a file from/to docker without mounting

2019-07-29 15:36:20 GMT <alfresco-discord> <LuisColorado> Awesome! Welcome to you and Emily!

2019-07-29 15:37:20 GMT <alfresco-discord> <LuisColorado> @kgastaldo Welcome back! And welcome to Emily!

2019-07-29 15:43:06 GMT <alfresco-discord> <LuisColorado> Hello everyone! I'm looking for a quota add-on to limit the size of user home folders. I noticed this one: https://github.com/bhagyas/alfresco-folder-quota, and also the supported version by KeenSoft https://www.keensoft.es/en/alfresco-myfiles-quota-new-add-on-available-for-alfresco/

2019-07-29 15:43:09 GMT <alfbot> Title:alfresco-myfiles-quota: new add-on available for Alfresco - keensoft (at www.keensoft.es)

2019-07-29 15:43:31 GMT <alfresco-discord> <LuisColorado> Has anybody tested that add-on for Alfresco 5.2 in production?

2019-07-29 15:44:17 GMT <alfresco-discord> <LuisColorado> This one also looks pretty neat, but it's commercial (not necessarily a bad thing, though): http://alfresco-addons.skytizens.com/alfrescoaddons/alfresco-user-site-quota-management-storage-space-management/
