Daily Log for #alfresco

2019-11-01 09:11:12 GMT <alfresco-discord> <angel.borroy> ok, I'll try ansible

2019-11-01 09:11:30 GMT <alfresco-discord> <angel.borroy> Thanks!

2019-11-01 10:34:10 GMT <AFaust> angel.borroy: If you have a chance, can you fix this lying debug statement: https://github.com/Alfresco/alfresco-repository/blob/master/src/main/java/org/alfresco/repo/search/impl/solr/DbOrIndexSwitchingQueryLanguage.java#L129

2019-11-01 10:34:11 GMT <alfbot> Title:alfresco-repository/DbOrIndexSwitchingQueryLanguage.java at master · Alfresco/alfresco-repository · GitHub (at github.com)

2019-11-01 10:34:22 GMT <AFaust> If you ever have to touch that class that is...

2019-11-01 10:35:07 GMT <AFaust> I was confused today by the log output. System configured with EVENTUAL consistency, and log output was always saying it was doing a SOLR query with db-afts language, which does not make sense

2019-11-01 10:35:52 GMT <AFaust> Same lie: https://github.com/Alfresco/alfresco-repository/blob/master/src/main/java/org/alfresco/repo/search/impl/solr/DbOrIndexSwitchingQueryLanguage.java#L213

2019-11-01 10:35:53 GMT <alfbot> Title:alfresco-repository/DbOrIndexSwitchingQueryLanguage.java at master · Alfresco/alfresco-repository · GitHub (at github.com)

2019-11-01 10:36:11 GMT <AFaust> I would create a PR, but mine always stick around for months without any progress..

2019-11-01 12:18:40 GMT <gaps> I have been struggling for couple of days on the alfresco community edition, am using 5.2 in CentOS 7, and still not able to make it work for docx higher size document to upload and preview and in XLS landscape orientation also doesn't work... any link or article where i can try with ... I tried Loftux script in Ubuntu, in that am not able to make it work at all... any help would be much appreciated... Thanks

2019-11-01 13:16:29 GMT <alfresco-discord> <forgiven> we use alfresco CE 5.x and are in the need of upgrading to 6.x. So i need proper directions on installing 6.1.1

2019-11-01 13:16:55 GMT <alfresco-discord> <forgiven> Anyone have good directions for installing on ubuntu 18.04?

2019-11-01 13:18:54 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> @forgiven You can get some guidance using https://github.com/loftuxab/alfresco-ubuntu-install. There are some issues with the script I haven't got around fixing.

2019-11-01 13:20:43 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> For example, ubuntu server does not always enable "universe" (if I rember which one correctly) apt repo, and therefor do not find all install components. So that will have to be done manually. There are also some components of a 6.1 install it doesn't deal with, such as message que server.

2019-11-01 13:20:51 GMT <alfresco-discord> <forgiven> @Loftux will this install a full working version?

2019-11-01 13:21:50 GMT <alfresco-discord> <forgiven> i mean not a "test" version like the alfresco recommended way

2019-11-01 13:22:18 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> In theory yes. But when I first created it, my intention was that those installing actually verify what it does, and therefor learn what it takes to manage an Alfresco setup.

2019-11-01 13:22:40 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> I have used this script for many installs that are now in production.

2019-11-01 13:24:20 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> Again, you will have to manually check some steps. But for Ubuntu, I think it is one of the most complete "guides".

2019-11-01 13:25:59 GMT <alfresco-discord> <forgiven> @Loftux you are THE man! I will try your script over the weekend. If i need some assistance, are you in this group any for the weekend?

2019-11-01 13:28:52 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> I'll try to sign out from work, so probably not. Need time off from Alfresco. Ask anyway, others might be here, and if you ask about issues, it should be general enough (i.e not just bash script related) for others to answer.

2019-11-01 13:30:39 GMT <alfresco-discord> <forgiven> i totally understand about disconnecting from work etc... thanks for all you guys do here!

2019-11-01 13:31:30 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> One thing more I noted about the script, there is no install candidate for OpenJDK 8 in Ubuntu anymore, so manually install Adoptopenjdk instead https://adoptopenjdk.net/installation.html#linux-pkg

2019-11-01 13:31:31 GMT <alfbot> Title:Installation | AdoptOpenJDK - Open source, prebuilt OpenJDK binaries (at adoptopenjdk.net)

2019-11-01 13:54:42 GMT <AFaust> Loftux: Are you sure about that "no OpenJDK 8 in Ubuntu anymore"? I just built a Docker image with OS based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and using OpenJDK 8 from default repositories...

2019-11-01 13:54:53 GMT <AFaust> "just" => yesterday

2019-11-01 14:43:25 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Douglas Paes (douglascrp)> @Loftux your script is what I use for all my installations

2019-11-01 14:45:20 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> @AFaust can be specific to that server, installed by customer. Something was off.
