Daily Log for #alfresco

2019-11-06 07:49:47 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> Kerberos is a new nightmare every time you try to get it up and working. This time I have CIFS disabled, and kerberos.authentication.authenticateCIFS=false. No keytab created for cifs (it is not in use). Still getting error: 2019-11-06 08:35:46,838 ERROR org.alfresco.fileserver Error from JLAN GSSException: Failure unspecified at GSS-API level (Mechanism level: Checksum failed) As if CIFS is still

2019-11-06 07:49:47 GMT <alfresco-discord> involved, or is this just some messed up class-location of kerberos code?

2019-11-06 08:24:02 GMT <CptLuxx> they are really calling it still cifs? lol..

2019-11-06 08:48:34 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Loftux> @CptLuxx Well, it is being deprecated in v 6 if not already removed. So this is for an older install

2019-11-06 13:06:40 GMT *** alxgomz_ is now known as alxgomz

2019-11-06 14:52:47 GMT <mmccarthy> Hey folks. I've got what I think is a strange problem with Alfresco. I've got a legacy application that authenticates with Alfresco CMIS 1.0 and it is using a digest-md5 hash of the username with a salt for a password to Alfresco. Using anything other than the username or anything other than the salt fails to authenticate. Anyone ever heard of Alfresco taking hashed usernames as passwords?

2019-11-06 14:54:29 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> doesn't look like something out of the box

2019-11-06 14:54:42 GMT <mmccarthy> Further, it is using external auth and ldap, but authenticating to LDAP directly with those credentials does not work. This particular URL is not protected by SSO/External.

2019-11-06 14:55:14 GMT <mmccarthy> I haven't been able to locate any customization that would mess with Authentication.

2019-11-06 14:55:17 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> newer Alfresco versions do though take a "special" kind of auth: basic authentication with ROLE_TICKET as the username, and the actual ticket as the password

2019-11-06 14:56:02 GMT <mmccarthy> Also, this is Alfresco 4.2, trying to upgrade to 5.2 and it no longer works.

2019-11-06 14:56:17 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> have you looked at custom auth subsystems / custom filters ??

2019-11-06 14:56:54 GMT <mmccarthy> There doesn't appear to be either. I checked web.xml for filters, and auth looks OOTB.
