Daily Log for #alfresco

2020-02-18 08:29:39 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> angelborroy: what we discussed yesterday about SolrActiveEvent and SolrInactiveEvent is not well handled in ACS

2020-02-18 08:29:43 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> this line https://github.com/Alfresco/alfresco-repository/blob/master/src/main/java/org/alfresco/repo/solr/SOLRAdminClient.java#L333

2020-02-18 08:29:44 GMT <alfbot> Title:alfresco-repository/SOLRAdminClient.java at master · Alfresco/alfresco-repository · GitHub (at github.com)

2020-02-18 08:30:15 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> if solr is down, there is an exception and it can never setup or fire the inactive event

2020-02-18 08:30:31 GMT <angelborroy> So you are using STATUS endpoint?

2020-02-18 08:30:52 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> there should be a try/catch either in the ping method either here https://github.com/Alfresco/alfresco-repository/blob/master/src/main/java/org/alfresco/repo/solr/SOLRWatcherJob.java#L54

2020-02-18 08:30:53 GMT <alfbot> Title:alfresco-repository/SOLRWatcherJob.java at master · Alfresco/alfresco-repository · GitHub (at github.com)

2020-02-18 08:31:17 GMT <angelborroy> Anyway, feel free to open a ticket with that

2020-02-18 08:32:02 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> I have to for now, but it makes an extra call to solr, which could easily be avoided if the events are handled/implemented correctly

2020-02-18 08:32:32 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> is your team handlign that or is another ACS team handling it?

2020-02-18 08:32:51 GMT <angelborroy> It’s repo side, but it will be assigned to us in the end

2020-02-18 08:45:30 GMT <alfresco-discord> <dgradecak> I hope you will receive it 😉 https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-22112

2020-02-18 09:42:50 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Alberto Rugnone> Hi guys !

2020-02-18 09:44:45 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Alberto Rugnone> I have a question: is it possibile to configure alfresco maven plugin 3.1.0 to have alfresco:run command running tomcat 8 instead tomcat 7 as is it by default?

2020-02-18 10:05:57 GMT <alfresco-discord> <yreg> nope

2020-02-18 12:20:34 GMT <alfresco-discord> <ohej> @Alberto Rugnone Unfortunately the tomcat maven plugin is fixed on 7.X. You can hit it with a big hammer to force a more recent version of Tomcat 7 but not 8. Your best bet is to go with SDK 4.x or opt for a custom Cargo setup

2020-02-18 13:14:28 GMT <alfresco-discord> <PJ> > I have a question: is it possibile to configure alfresco maven plugin 3.1.0 to have alfresco:run command running tomcat 8 instead tomcat 7 as is it by default? @Alberto Rugnone I suggest to add a new Maven submodule in your project in order to use the docker-maven-plugin (fabric8io) to build your own Docker image based on Tomcat8 and JDK1.8. Write your own Dockerfile for overriding the Tomcat

2020-02-18 13:14:28 GMT <alfresco-discord> installation with ACS and using the same plugin you can also run your custom image using mvn docker:build and mvn docker:run

2020-02-18 14:10:36 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Alberto Rugnone> Thank you @ohej and @PJ , then a last question even if I guess the answer. Is it possibile use the SDK 4.0 to work with acs 5.2.6?

2020-02-18 14:11:48 GMT <alfresco-discord> <ohej> @Alberto Rugnone Unfortunately no, SDK 4.X is for 6.0+

2020-02-18 14:12:26 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Alberto Rugnone> as I thought

2020-02-18 14:12:32 GMT <alfresco-discord> <Alberto Rugnone> thank you again
